WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Minions Stuart, Kevin and Bob set out to find the ultimate villain to team up with. When they cross paths with the infamous Scarlet Overkill, she hires them to steal the Queenís crown.
IS IT A GOOD MOVIE?
Somewhere, at this very moment, there is a room full of people laughing their asses off as they swim naked in a pool of money. Who would have thought a movie about small, yellow henchmen (whose dialogue is complete gibberish) would gross over a billion dollars? A room full of f*cking geniusí, thatís who. DESPICABLE ME was hilarious. Partly because of the minions, but there was also Gru and his relationship with the girls. The second film was alright, but ultimately unnecessary. One might think a solo film focusing on the mischievous minions would be a huge gamble, and naturally, one would be wrong. Of course hereís the real question, is it a good film? Yes, it is.

I wonít lie to you, itís no INSIDE OUT, but thereís enough humor to win over adults, and more than enough ridiculousness to entertain the kids. Letís be real, this film did so well because itís aimed at children, and that billion dollars is only for the movie folks. Have you been to TOYS R US lately? There are countless types of minion toys, clothing, and candy (thereís even a damn cereal). Like I said, somebody out there is swimming in hand over fist money.

MINIONS is pretty impressive considering what they had to work with, the story of three minions hitting up Villain-Con (my favorite part of the movie) in search of the ultimate bad guy to lend their services to, is as fun as it is humorous. Sandra Bullock did an awesome job as Scarlet Overkill, and she was obviously having a blast doing it. A part of me felt this was a cash grab when the news first hit, but I can honestly say I had a good time with it, and recommend it for both people who enjoyed DESPICABLE ME and anyone with kids (this was the first film my three year old daughter sat through in its entirety at the movie theater).
THE EXTRAS
Deleted Scene: A thirty second mirror gag that quite honestly could have stayed in.

Around The World Interactive Map: Just like it sounds, itís an interactive map of all the places the minions travel in the film. My favorite was Villain-Con.

Behind The Giggles-The Illumination Story of the Minions: Another interactive game menu that leads you through a minion work day at the studio. Funny stuff.

Jingle Bells Minion Style: Not sure why we get them singing Jingle Bells, as this isnít a Christmas movie, but here is it.

Mini-Movies: There are three mini-movies that are a lot of fun.

Previews: Thereís a trailer for The Secret Life of Pets as well as 3D Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital HD Copy of the film.
FINAL DIAGNOSIS
This flick isnít overly clever, but clever enough to make you smile and keep that smile on your face throughout. Thatís as solid a compliment a film like this can hope to get in my opinion. And with a billion dollars in the bank, Iím sure we havenít seen the last of Stuart, Kevin and Bob.
