Protocols of Zion
WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
PROTOCOLS OF ZION is a documentary released in 2005 that took some of the big “conspiracies” (most of which I’ve never heard of) about the Jews and attempted to delve into them. Were the Jewish people warned and saved from 9/11? Do they run the world? A whole lot of stupid questions are asked and unanswered.
IS IT A GOOD MOVIE?
True Peace can only be found when the bombs drop, and there’s nobody left. A wise man once said that, in fact he’s the author of this review! I really wasn’t in the mood to watch this documentary, but as I started to review it, Israel just raped Beirut with its mighty air force, so I guess this review is somewhat relevant. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for this movie. First off, the documentary is the personal motive of director Marc Levin about supposed conspiracies that one, I have never heard of, and two, are so ridiculous that I find it hard to believe people believe in them. We’re not talking about JFK stuff, we’re talking about ideas that Jewish people have a plan to rule the world. My answer to this is, they have a friggin’ hard enough time defending their own country!
Sure, people are ignorant, and Levin shows this; but the movie never FULLY delves into any one of its conspiracies. It’s like getting only a fraction of THE DAVINCI CODE. Not to mention I didn’t glean anything by the end of it. I wasn’t moved, I wasn’t challenged, and I wasn’t entertained. Now Michael Moore’s films are the exact opposite. Because Levin doesn’t challenge himself or us, I see no point why this documentary was made. It’s harsh, but my own little brother can make a more riveting documentary on his MacBook Pro. If you’re trying to get your point across, step it up!
A Discussion With Director Marc Levin >> 15 min > This is a Q & A at a film festival and I actually like it more than the whole documentary as Mr. Levin comes forward with ideas. He’s honest, I like the guy a lot after this, he just didn’t get this substance in the film.
James Carroll on the Passion Story >> 5 min > With all due respect to Mr. Carroll, he comes off a little crazy. But it all depends on your own point of view.
Will Eisner – The Plot >> 6 min > Showing Will Eisner working on a graphic novel about the Protocols. Looks cool
There is also the Theatrical Trailer and a Protocols Timeline.
The good intentioned Marc Levin set out to shake things up with PROTOCOLS OF ZION, but failed to do so in my opinion. Not every issue is fully explored or answered, so the film looses its relevance. What few special features were included actually serve Levin’s purpose better. So Marc, if you read this review, give it another try buddy.
