WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Something about ghosts, computers, a virus epidemic, some dude, his daughter and his dead wife. I honestly couldnt tell you.
IS IT A GOOD MOVIE?
I didnt watch the first PULSE so I dont know if that was a necessary primer to have PULSE 2 make any sense, because it really didnt. IMDB doesnt even have a plot synopsis for it, which is always a good sign. Im sure there are other summaries and explanations somewhere on our fair Internets, but I shouldnt have to do extensive research to understand your movie.

From the guys dressed like Little Red Riding Hood to the black and white ghost attacks, PULSE 2 wants to be a weird, dreamlike horror flick. However, the movie is peppered with so much bizarre unconnected stuff (my favan old guy who eats a dog and rubs it on his face) that the total time spent with an actual plot (a father and daughter avoiding ghosts who can pass through electronics?) is mere minutes. Had the ghosts in the movie been more consistent it mightve been easier to comprehend, but the dead people come in so many states with so many different powers that it makes no sense. Some suck souls, some turn to dust, some melt in to goo, others just sit and stare at people. I didnt know if I was supposed to be creeped out or laugh.

The important thing though is that not a single moment of PULSE 2 is tense, suspenseful, or scary, let alone interesting. I was seriously tempted to turn the movie off after fifteen minutes of a woman wandering around in some sort of bizarre afterlife (and I only guess afterlife because thats the films subtitle). Some of the visuals here were fairly slick, thanks mostly to computerized backdrops and green screen compositing. But then the film completely switched gears and plotsto a story equally as boring and dumb.
THE EXTRAS
Commentary by Everyone: Seven people. Thats how many persons it took to discuss PULSE 2, from the director to line producer to visual effects people. Sadly, no one could defend or explain the movie enough to warrant watching it.

Deleted Scenes (3:40): Two short scenes that add nothing. Although one is unfinished in green screen format, which shows how ridiculous it is. Its a guy talking to his daughter on a bed. Did you really need to bring special effects in to this?
FINAL DIAGNOSIS
Fans of the first PULSE may be able to better understand what the hell is going on in this movie, but nobody will enjoy it.

Extra Tidbit: PULSE 3 is already on its way. Pray for our children.
