WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
A group of talented cave explorers investigate a mysterious cave in Romania.
IS IT A GOOD MOVIE?
This is another one of those movies that you forget right after you see it. It offers nothing new and nothing exciting. Itís a run of the mill creature movie that youíll figure out before the opening credits are done. Itís not bad per say, but it just feels like a waste of time.

I really donít have anything specific to complain about other than I feel like Iíve seen it before. The acting lived up to the (very low) expectations. The creatures were scary looking and there was a fair amount of suspense and drama. However, I feel like there could have been a lot more depth to the story. They had a decent idea going on, but they sacrificed an eerie idea and back-story for cheap thrills and over-used scares. The opening touched on a crusades-era story that was never really mentioned again.

The movie also feels very rushed. Itís like they had more to throw in, but they were trying to keep it around the 90-minute mark. I donít think they couldíve done too much better, but it could have been a little more tolerable.
THE EXTRAS
Commentary with Bruce Hunt, Andrew Mason and James McQuaide: This is a good technical commentary and these guys bounce ideas off of each other pretty well. I actually ended up liking these guys at the end and then I felt bad for not liking their movie.

Commentary with Michael Steinbrg and Tegan West: These guys wrote the flick and theyíre pretty proud of it. They talk about interesting stuff and Iím left wondering why they didnít include more of it into their script.

Into the Cave (18:41): Wes Skiles talks about the location used in the film. He was a part of the underwater crew and he talks about the dangers associated with cave diving and exploring. Personally, cave diving isnít for me. I get nervous taking baths.

Designing Evolution: Tatopoulos Studios (10:31): Here the creature designer discusses the creatures used in the movie.

There are also Trailers.
FINAL DIAGNOSIS
This is the kind of movie thatís easy to bash. Itís not very well done and you can pick it apart without even trying. But when it comes down to it, the film is what it is; a typical horror/suspense movie with nifty creatures.
