WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
A musician fights the pitfalls of the music industry in LA with the help of his model girlfriend.
IS IT A GOOD MOVIE?
We all know where this is going. As a reviewer, it’s easier to write a review for a movie that is either really good or really bad. Needless to say, after watching this pitiful excuse for a movie, I rolled up my sleeves and cracked my knuckles. Sometimes it’s just too easy. This was a horrible movie that should have never been made.

The biggest question most people will have regarding this film is the performance of Ms. Ashlee Simpson. Well folks, as much as I would like to trash her, she did fine. Unfortunately for her, everyone else in the film was unbelievably bad. The story was cliché and pointless. The audience was given a rehashing of a bad episode from any teen melodrama. The acting was poor, but they did what they could with the script. That’s assuming there was a script. But the real culprit in all of this was the director. I looked him up on Google and the guy looks like he’s in his late 50’s. Perhaps that’s why the film feels as if it has no idea what people in their 20’s actually think, do or say. I’ve never seen a film that was so out of touch with its subject matter.

And the music. Oh the music. I consider myself to be pretty open minded when it comes to music. I can appreciate everything from ABBA to Zappa. But the music in this movie was so bad that I literally had to mute the performances. Of course, given that music was such a big part of the story, there were quite a few performances.
THE EXTRAS
Commentary with Meiert Avis: Mr. Avis opens this up by thanking a company called Cinerenta for making this movie possible. So you can blame them if you were unlucky enough to have suffered through this.

“Making of” Featurette (11:22): The cast takes time out to explain the film to you. Because it’s so freaking complicated. I have to assume this was directed to those of us without a pre-school education.

Deleted Scenes (5:56): The movie was long enough. Perhaps they should have called these “Undiscovered” and then called the movie “deleted scenes”. Or maybe they should have deleted all the scenes. OK, I thought I had a funny play on words there, but I couldn’t make it work. So, never mind. Just know that these scenes are just as bad as the movie.

There are also Music Videos, Photo Galleries and Previews.
FINAL DIAGNOSIS
This was just a bad movie. If I ever become filthy rich, I will pay Hollywood executives to not make crap like this. I figure the investment will pay off with all the lives that will be better from having not seen movies like UNDISCOVERED.
