RIPOFF, REALLY?
Actually, not only did John Lasseter approve the story, he was actively involved in changes made to the script. The original director, Chris Sanders (creator of Lilo and Stitch), was removed from the project when he didn't take the suggestions Lasseter made and was replaced. Not only does this show how involved John Lasseter is with the animation produced by Disney (since he has creative control of all Disney animation), it suggests he is a very hands on producer. In fact, from what I read, Lasseter made some changes to Meet the Robinsons when he was appointed his position and the critical reception was very positive, most likely because of the contributions of the new animation boss. He seems to be a difficult person to work with, based on how much control he takes in each project, but it seems to be working. There is hope for Disney again.
I thought this clip was just a marvel to watch and looked amazing. And I never even thought of Toy Story when I saw the trailers for this film. I think the movie would have to be more than about delusional characters for it to be a rip off. You know, it might need talking toys who come alive when away from humans. But as it was said, how does a person rip off his own work? |

DEADLY SINNER
I never really like to correct ppl but you sir need to get your info straighten out.
First off, John Lassester was one of the founders for Pixar and basically created the idea for Toy Story. Now he is Chief Creative Officer of both Pixar and Disney animation studios. Not to mention he also produces this movie. So I would think he wouldnt let this movie be made if it was anything like Toy Story, which it is not.
Also about death in a disney movie. The last time I recall, there was alot of different depictions of death in a Disney movie. Most classic ones are Bambi and The Lion King. Not to mention The Incredibles had death in it. So this isnt anything new in Disney's history of films.
On a lighter note, I love the level of animation and comedy just from what I saw in this little clip. Im excited to see the whole thing even though Miley Cirus voices the girl in it. *shudders* Just wish there was a HD version of this. |

RIPOFF OF TOY STORY
Instead of delusional Buzz, you get delusional Bolt. I'll probably still see it, if only for the pretty pictures.
