Comingsoon.net have apparently learned that scraggly-haired, eccentric, sun-averse director extraordinaire Tim Burton has dropped out of directing RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT! and Paramount is now actively searching for a replacement. Jim Carrey has been attached to star as Robert Ripley, a man who canvassed the world to amass a compendium of unique oddities and present them in what later became the titular popular TV show, for a long time now so it may be that two exceedingly eccentric, Hollywood A-list personalities is just way too much crazy for one particular production. The film was originally set to begin lensing in 2008 for an early 2009 release so, if this is indeed true, who knows how that timeline will be affected. Read Comingsoon.net's report HERE.
