The JoBlo.com / A.I. Give-Away!

Below, you will find a bunch of runner-up responses to the questions which we posed for our A.I. DVD PLAYER give-away. They're all very cool and flattering and I am putting them together on this page, so that whenever I'm feeling crappy about my own station in life, I will visit this page and read all of the nice things that our visitors have said about the site. Enjoy! (favorite JoBlo quotes are here)

1) What is it that you love so much about this JoBlo.com?

JoBlo gives me all the movie information I need. Being a movie buff, I like keeping up to date with my movie news, trailers, possible new posters, movie chats, reviews etc. and JoBlo gives it all to me. But the absolute favorite part of JoBlo would be the trailers... hands down. I have not seen any other site that gives every trailer I could possibly want. And of course the movie reviews. They are very honest and give the everyday movie goer a fair look at if they should see it or not and spend an outrageous amount of money (Whether or not I agree with it... is another story) But that doesn't really matter to me, seeing as I work in a movie theatre and can watch them all for free!!! Not to brag or anything.

---------------

I originally got hooked when I was simply browsing for movie wallpapers and screensavers for my computer. Not only did I find a great collection of those, but then I found that JoBlo.com had...dun-dun-dun, movie news and rumors! Thus began my daily visits. If this weren't enough, when I read some reviews and realized that JoBlo had just about the same taste in movies as I did, that's all it took for www.joblo.com to become one of my favorite sites the web, and the first one I check when I wake up in the morning. Sad but true. :-)

---------------

JoBlo.com has been my number one site for movie news and reviews for over two years. Even though I don't always agree with your review rankings (I mean, come on! Mallrats and Sugar & Spice both got the same rating), I think you always present your reviews with the disclaimer that these are your opinions. And though they are well-respected through the internet community, they are still just opinions. In addition, you frequently have the newest trailers up on your site as soon as they are available, have reliable news, and a darn funny couple of guys (Arrow and Joey Baloney) working there. JoBlo.com will remain one of my favorite links to visit on a daily basis as long as it is such a high-caliber site.

---------------

Let's see....there are an abundance of things that i love about your site. First, you and arrow are so quick with reviews....if i want to find out about a movie before it's release date, you guys usually are right on the money with your reviews so i can get a sneak peek. Also, i agree with about 98% of what u guys say in your reviews. You guys review movies in terms of what they are...MOVIES!!!! You guys incorporate all of the most important aspects of the films into your reviews...acting ability, score, directing, and screenwriting. Also, if a movie is made from a book, you guys review the movie, not how well the book was translated into the movie, etc. Too many assramming rimjobbing prickknocking reviewers (<cough cough MALTIN! MALTIN! cough cough> are review nazis and are too judgmental. JoBlo and Arrow all the way!! Most importantly, however...you guys have the perfect sense of humor that movie reviewers should have. I have read tons of your reviews (both yours! and arrow's...since i am a HUGE horror film fan) and every single one makes me laugh. Keep up the good work, guys....keep those reviews coming!!!!! Oh...and if you need another reviewer....drop me a line...or as they say in ebonics...." hook me up wit' a phizzat lizzine, son". word up. Keep those awesome reviews coming. and tell arrow his horror site rules. Oh and I forgot another reason I love your site so much...Joey Baloney's news is up to date and very reliable...and Indiana Sev's quizzes made me piss my pants on more than one occasion. I wear depends now whenever I visit the site.

---------------

I first found Joblo.com around two and a half years ago. I checked out the site and thought it was nice little site until I read my first Joblo review. It was on the front page so I decided to read it. The review was for a movie called "Body Shots". I read the review and I was hooked. Here was a guy who thought like me. He was a borderline asshole with his opinion of the movie and I loved it. So I started checking out more reviews and found out that this was the site for me. Almost every review was dripping with wit and sarcasm that lacks in other critics reviews. But that's just it. I don't consider Joblo's site to be a critic's site. I consider it to be a site for people who love movies. You guys love movies and everything about them. It's great to see someone express their true feelings of a film and not worry about their reputation getting bogged down for liking something that gets totally panned by everyone. I can relate to that. Sure "Battlefield Earth" was bad, but I enjoyed it for what it was and you did too. You're not afraid to pan the same shitty Miramax "Oscar-calibur" stuff that comes out each year. If I could quote a line from "True Romance", "All they do is make unwatchable movies from unreadable books." I think guys like you and me stick by that line. Well, I've run on a bit long here, so I just want you to know that as long as the site keeps it's real movie fan feel, I'll be coming back everyday all the way until the end.

---------------

First, what is there not to love, and second, now that the ass kissing is done, it is to me, a real movie site. By saying that I mean you do everything, not singling one type of movie out, and not skipping any part of the experience of the movies. You include news, which I will admit I check every day, several times, to get the latest information, and your reviews are great (read second question, all butt kissing for this part was directed there). Including DVD reviews, even posters, scripts, and the almighty contest every now and then. This site is like no other and stands out above the rest. You can tell by reading that you are truly devoted movie lovers and enjoy what you do, even if at times it interrupts your personal lives (don't think I forget all those stories about yourselves). I honestly can say, whether I win this contest or not, I am a true fan of JoBlo.com, though it has only been about a year and a half, and as long as you are posting, I, among others, will be reading.

---------------

I love and visit this site at least 10 times a day because t is what I have always been searching for. A good movie site that writes reviews that are on the line of the average movie fan. I was so tired of these "professional" critics. It seems to me they love just low-cost independent films and hate all big budgets epics. The great thing about your site is you are not afraid to dislike an prestigious Oscar film(Gosford Park, The Shipping News, In The Bedroom, etc.) and sometimes like big budget action films (Planet of the Apes). And you don't cave in under the pressure of film fans. Some critics gave LOTR: FOTR great grades just because so many people love the Tolkien novels. Although I would have graded it higher myself I am glad you gave it the rating you think it deserves. Plus I love this site because there is a great message board. I have many buds there and it actually has some conversations. It is the perfect size and you keep it up nice. Joey Baloneys does a great news site. I don't go anywhere else. These are some of the reasons why I adore your site.

---------------

I love the JoBlo.com reviews.
I love JoBlo's diverse views.
His review of Glitter read my mind,
They should never make movies like that, not of any kind.
I love the Arrow's Mistress of the Week.
What can I say? I'm a JoBlo geek.
I would love to win this JoBlo contest.
But if I don't, I'll feel better w/ an allnight pornfest.
I love how the trailers are rated in hamburgers.
In case I win, mail it to Brian Pramberger.
I love the Golden Schmoes, and all the nominees.
Especially Halle Berry's, whose boobs i'd love to squeeze.
But most of all I love the JoBlo Movie Forum,
and all the members who visit JoBlo's Movie Emporium.

---------------

What I love so much about this site is, if I have to choose something, the DVD reviews. I have virtually no money, and unfortunately am a huge fan of DVDs. Your site has some reviews before they come out so it gives me time to ponder over ones I'd like to buy. Also, they have all the info at a glance. If I just want to know how the commentary is, I can just read about it, instead of other sites where I have to read the whole thing. And since I don't really rely on online stores for the extras, you guys have them all listed and each one talked about and analyzed. I go on your site every day to see, along with the news, if there are any new reviews to look at. Like any critic in the world, I don't always agree with you guys, but you do know what you're talking about and that's always great.

---------------

Well, let's start by saying that your reviews usually share the same opinion as me, so I can trust what you say usually. Before I rent a movie or go out to see one, I always have to log on and see what you said about it. Your reviews are raw, and you can manage to convey what your feelings on the movie were without difficulty, while still maintaining a much more interesting style than Ebert or Maltin (this also applies to the Arrow). You're not a stuck up prick like a lot of critics; you never just like a movie because it's "independent" or because everyone else likes it. That is a quality I am sad to say most critics don't have. Also, the message board is great, and I use it quite often. The DVD Clinic is extremely useful too in learning how high the quality of a DVD is, and additional insight into a movie as well. Your site is also my primary source in picking up movie news, ! and I can always count on the news being very up-to-date. I also appreciate that you have links to so many trailers available. I never pass an opportunity to view a new movie trailer. I also visit the Release Dates pages whenever they're updated in order to learn of what will be coming out in the future. The site is also set up exceedingly well - the white background makes it easy to read everything, and the "Updates" section on the front page is perfect for telling all your readers if any new updates have been made since their last visit.

---------------

I've been a fan of your site for quite sometime -- finally, a real guy-guy who reviews movies for the common man. You know what I'm talking about -- I mean, who really reads all those artsy-fartsy reviews from critics circles? I want to know the facts, the goods, the important stuff. And let me segue into my next point: FINALLY, someone who sees eye-to-eye on AMERICAN PSYCHO. Jesus, man! What the hell were all those people thinking? Bale deserved a nod at least, and the film was the freshest, most daring piece of filmmaking to come out of Hollywood in the last few years (except, of course, FIGHT CLUB, another one I was glad to see you praise). Hey, I know all this sounds like weiner-sucking of the highest order, but dammit, I mean this stuff. You're a good man, on top of all the movie news that I want to hear about, running a damn good site, and I commend you. We need more guys like you out there.

JoBlo.com isn't about the awards, the glitz, the glamour (although I do dig the lay-out of the site) -- it's about the fans, the viewers, the people behind those figures at the box office. And it's run by the common man himself. This is the real stuff, not bullshit over-analysis from some half-assed writer in the Times. Good movie? Go see it. Bad movie? Don't waste your time. And we'll let you know about the ones you definitely cannot miss. Finally a site that gives me what I want.

---------------

First and most obvious is, your movie news; It's very informal and interesting. And the reviews are actually, quite unmerciful, like you say anything, bad or good and you get to the point without any delays. And The movie trailers keep on comin' ,and you guys are actually quite funny. Keep it up!!

---------------

Overall, JoBlo.com is a great website. But the best part this site has to offer, is the message boards. From time to time, JoBlo writes a review that favors a film which the public does not like. Remember the horrendous movie Battlefield: Earth. JoBlo gave that film a high grade of 7 out of 10. I know he is entitled to his own opinion, but when that opinion is made public, it is available to scrutiny for all the registered members. And that was the best part. JoBlo and his review received a relentless thrashing from me and my fellow Schmoes. Following this event, JoBlo replied with a message about being ticked off at all the hate-mail he was receiving. Only when you can tick the President off do you have a true voice in society.

---------------

Ah JoBlo.com, what isn't there to love? Seriously though, my personal favourite thing is that your site's name implies that you're just some guy who writes about movies he sees, but you never do that thing far too many internet critics do. You know what I mean: "Reviews from a real person's perspective, not some studio whore movie critic who is too afraid to hurt some big time actor's feelings to give an honest opinion." Every time I search through Yahoo's movie review site list, I see variations of that statement and roll my eyes. Plus you update frequently, you have several different sections to your site to accommodate different tastes and your writing style is very casual. Great work :)

---------------

The undeniable commitment to movies. There is no bias at JoBlo.com, like at those other sites, so you don't find only mass marketed movie
trailers, company distributed screen savers/wallpapers, and a limited scope of interviews.  You get everything that is movie. Most sites will
either lean to the art, or lean towards the fart, but JoBlo puts his face right in the cleavage of the industry and shakes his head around for everyone to see. The trailers come from everywhere they can be found, and range from home-made spoofs down to the next Lucas
production. You can always count on picking up a screen saver or wallpaper that you don't see everywhere else, because JoBlo.com includes
original art, and design. This site is ran by a movie fan, not a movie company. Then, to make more information available, JoBlo.com has a
friendly legion of movie fans networked together through a bulletin board service. There is no other site with the devotion or enthusiasm
that is available at JoBlo.com.

---------------

I love movie news. I first found this site when I was looking for screenplays online. I'm trying to write my own screenplay (halfway through 2 of them, cant seem to finish either), and I love hearing movie news. It took me 3 weeks to convince my friend that Resident Evil was coming out in the middle of March. I had read it here a while ago, and he said he asked some schlep that worked at the local Movie theatre if he heard about it, and the guy said no (this was a few weeks ago). Anyway, I check it daily in search of new news, and have read a vast majority of the scripts (atleast of the scripts that interest me). I've also taken a liking to your reviews, though I try to stay away from them in order to form my own unbiased opinion of a movie, without someone else's thoughts running through my head. I do enjoy reading the reviews of movies I've already seen.

---------------

I must admit that my favorite feature is the movie news portion, I like to be up to date and this site always has the info. I really like the way that the whole site is set up, the reviews are great (I usually agree with what is written) I like how much attention is paid to Kevin Smith and his projects because I'm a Silent Bob groupie, I also really love that this site reports on independent films as well as Hollywood movies b/c I am an indiefreak but I also like to know what my favorite Hollywood actors are doing. Wanna know something really sad? Before I go to see a movie I almost always check this site for a review to see what you thought of the movie. Overall, I just really like it, I try to recruit people to visit it all the time.

---------------

I like the fact that, unlike most web sites, this site seems to be a "person", not a bloodless company just spitting another stupid, flashy, "bells & whistles", over-animated website onto the Internet. I like the fact that your guys ask a question like this, then follow it with the line "yeah...it's a cheap gimmick but..." It's nice, to see someone, somewhere not taking themselves so seriously all the time. You only get that here at JoBlo. :)

---------------

VARIETY for one thing! Givin' us (the fans) a choice in looking at J.Lo in a skimpy outfit, bowin our heads to Stanley Kubrick, (which, poetically, was the first link I clicked when I first visited JB.COM) or deciding from your movie trailer "hamburger rating system"...which flick looks the most Coolest. I mean...Let's face it Mr. JoBlo...most rating systems for upcoming movies by other websites could be sold as just plain POMPOUS, OVERWROUGHT PROFESSIONAL CRITICAL REVIEWS." wink-wink. Not to mention being just shy of 3 dozen other features (Quizzes, Interviews, movie malls...

---------------

I love how fast-paced everything is. For example, something will happen in the entertainment industry and it's in Joey Baloney's section; a movie hasn't even been released yet and we have JoBlo's take on it; or a certain trailer is already available to download almost as soon as it comes out. And we can't forget the variety of issues covered, such as horror (the Arrow) and DVDs (DVD Clinic). If I had to pick only one thing that I love about the site, it would have to be the spirit that its creators possess and have instilled into the site. You guys obviously love what you do and it shows--and that makes browsing through your site a lotta fun!

---------------

Alright, this is going to be a toughie. In a nutshell, JoBlo.com is everything a movie fanatic needs and more. From the links to the movie merchandise sites, to the DVD and movie reviews, to the movie news and rumors, JoBlo.com is and has been for a long time and will continue to be for as long as it's up and running what I start my day with, and how I end my day. I wake up in the morning, and check the news and reviews, etc. Before I go to bed at night, I check it out to make sure I didn't miss anything, and all the hours in between, I read, research back through the archives, etc. Simply put, JoBlo.com gives me everything I need to know about movies, DVDs, news and rumors, etc. Just as a measure of how much I trust JoBlo.com, if a DVD comes out that I haven't seen in the theater first, I will not buy it unless JoBlo gives it at least a 3 and a half star rating. That's how much I respect his opinions, and the opinions of the rest of the schmoes. Keep up the good work!

---------------

Is this pucker up time? Okay, I can live with that! :-) There are two great things about your site: The movie reviews and the contests. The reason the contests are great seems rather obvious so I won't elaborate here. Honestly, I like your movie reviews because I get a sense that your are a true movie lover - a quality that I can relate to and a quality that translate well into a good write up. You seem to have that rare ability to be able to distinguish between liking/disliking a movie and discerning if it is, in fact, done well or not. There are many movies I truly enjoy, but ones which weren't made well. An excellent example of this is "Clan of the Cave Bears" - a true bomb by any standard, yet one of my favorites. Your reviews explain why I should/should not see a movie without telling me the whole story. I refuse to read most reviews because the writers ruin the experience by giving away all the surprises sometimes to the point of telling what happens in the end! I know when I read one of your reviews it will be an enjoyable experience. I can relax and learn about the movie without fear of you spoiling the movie going experience for me. There is an exuberance to your writing which is infectious as is the generally excitement you seem to have for films. I enjoy your humor and your diatribes about some of the more odd aspects of the picture.

---------------

I love EVERYTHING about JoBlo.com! So much so that I've been visiting regularly since 1999. I remember the first review that I read on your site for one of my personal favorite movies, Cruel Intentions. Your unique style and honest opinions grabbed me from the get-go and I've been hooked ever since. JoBlo.com is my hands down favorite movie website and overall one of the most well-organized sites I've ever seen. Not only are the reviews entertaining and dependable, but you're more on top of movie news than all of the other sites out there! And as a growing DVD enthusiast, I find your DVD Clinic section helpful in "diagnosing" which DVDs are worth it or not. I know that if I ever need to know anything about a movie, its stars, its DVD, or any related or even general news, the first place I can go is JoBlo.com for all the information.

---------------

Like the best reviews, JoBlo's can discuss a film that makes you interested to see it, even if the review is not complimentary. Instead of simple trashing (which I must admit, JoBlo is not above on occasion), a discussion into WHY the movie failed to work is altogether more satisfying.

---------------

To answer your first question (what is my favorite part of JoBlo.com?) I'd have to say: the basic idea behind the site. What I mean to say is that I am most satisfied with the fact that someone actually made a site like JoBlo.com, where movie fans can come from all over the world to get news, get reviews, and discuss anything they want pertaining to films. Personally, I have been affected positively by the discussions on the board. I have become more knowledgeable about films and have also gotten a deeper understanding and interest about what movies can mean to me. I am also glad that you keep toughing it out with the site, even though times have been rough. It takes a lot of strength to do what you've been doing for years now, including the reviews you write every week.

---------------

I had sought out finding a good movie site for several months. I was a constant visitor to IGN FilmForce, Movie-Page.com, and the Internet Movie Database. IMDb was just a database, so no true movie info; Movie Page didn't have enough updates; and pretty much all of IGN's sites have become too corporate and constantly through annoying advertisements in your face. I came across JoBlo's Movie Emporium by search engine, I believe, and immediately saw that it is the best (or at least one of the best) movie sites on the 'net today. Not only is there constant news updates, but they also have straight honest truth reviews, movie trailers, DVD reviews, trivia, scripts, contests, damn JoBlo has more features than I've even been able to look at. Bottom line is that JoBlo kicks ass!

---------------

I like JoBlo.com for two reasons. First, the site is just about everything a moviebuff can hope for. There's reviews, trailers, DVD reviews, release dates, interviews, scripts, multimedia, etc.... I mean, it's just great. It's also constantly updated with everyday news and new additions. Second, I love reading the reviews because JoBlo doesn't care about any other critics' reviews. He is literally a JoBlo reviewing a movie like everybody else. He (you; sorry, I don't know which person I should narrate from) isn't afraid to put what he wants even if the movie has critical praise (i.e. In The Bedroom, Dancer In The Dark, Gosford Park). He also uses profanity sometimes, not as much as Arrow, but it can really say something good or bad about the movie (that wasn't a diss to Arrow. He kicks ass also). And, not to be cheesy, I find myself relating to most of his reviews. Since my local paper sucks at reviewing movies, I usually turn to JoBlo's reviews first. For example, I really was worried about seeing Vanilla Sky. So many critics shot it down, so I started to doubt it. Then, I looked at your review and decided to give it a try. After I saw it I realized: F**k critics! JoBlo is da man! (okay it really wasn't that literal, but something along those lines). Keep it up JoBlo, your site is awesome.

---------------

What I love so much about JoBlo.com is that people all around the world come and talk about their favorite films. JoBlo.com is also very addictive. You can never visit the site just once, you keep coming back for more. I also love how there's different sections to choose from. The site has a great reviews section, from the one and only JoBlo himself. I love the review section because I can read and compare some of my favorite films to his. I also love the News section in which Joey Baloney keeps us up to date with movie news. One of my favorite parts of JoBlo.com is the Discussion Boards. I enjoy the Discussion Boards because it's a good way to communicate to other movie lovers about the films in which you love or hate. Since there's a variety of forums, most people are happy. Like if one person is addicted to horror, they got three horror forums to choose from. Even if an upcoming writer searches the boards, there's one great forum for him in the Filmmaking/Screenwriting forum. Other honorable mentions of JoBlo.com are the Wallpapers, Screen Savers, trailers, quizzes, and Arrow In The Head. What I've concluded about JoBlo.com is it's better than porn. That's right, I'd rather be downloading a trailer for 'Spider-man' from the site, then downloading a naked picture of Vin Diesel. Honest!!!

---------------

I'm not one of those cheap assholes (darn diddly dang excuse my language, there might be more words like these) who just viewed this site the first time in their life and are writing this just to get a DVD player. I love your site and along with imdb.com and reelviews.net, it's one of the websites that I visit everyday. There are some, but not many websites that have the similar structure to yours. Like having movies (in theatres) reviewed, movie news updated almost everyday, horror film reviews, trailers... It's the complete package. But the thing that I really want to mention is that I really like JoBlo and Arrow's way they approach things. I know what you're thinking --> what the hell's this guy talking about, but what I mean by this is I like your site because of the certain attitude that you put in your reviews/movienews/arrowinthehead stuff. The words you use in reviews are fitting and you're not afraid to stick with your own opinions (Crap on a stick). For example, the merchandises you sell... On top of it says 'Support our sorry asses'! I love that title because it's so unpretentious, and it made me buy one and support you guys, until when I found out that I had no money in my bank account. So, to translate the words above in English it means --> The biggest reason I like your website is because of JoBlo's (your) characteristics.

---------------

I love JoBlo.com so much because it's so addictive. Every time I come online, I always click on my favorite places and come here. I hope to see a new review come up every time I visit the page, because I love reading JoBlo's and Arrow's reviews and thoughts about movies. JoBlo himself knows a great movie when he sees one, and that's why he rarely ever gives a film a solid 10 out of 10. Also, the site is so large. I spend hours a night just looking at all the great stuff. I especially love the screensavers and the DVD Clinic. The Arrow's site is awesome as well. I am a large horror movie fan and I agree with his every word. They both do a great reviewing job.

---------------

Reliability baby!! I love the fact that you guys all work as a team, though JoBlo is the man, Arrow and the rest of your cast,...(cough) staff...is always on top of the newest movies and there to review them. And I even ask for Arrow's aka John Fallon's autograph and he was extremely glad to send me one, I got it in the mail the other day and wham-mo...reliablity. You guys are always the people I can trust to tell what the fans really want to hear about the movies, that's right, I'm talking T&A and gore factors baby!! Not to mention the hardcore adult humor found within the dieresis of your hilarious reviews of the movies. So why do I like taking the FCAT,...(cough, man I must have a cold or sumthin)..I mean Joblo.com movies contest, because I love the Halloween pictures of you as The Crow (long live Brandon Lee!!) and the pictures of you with John Fallon as well as the interviews with the stars....you guys are always there and reliable.

---------------

I'll just get right to the answers so I don't bore you with all that "Oh I love your website" shit that I'm sure you hear a lot in these entries. My favorite part of your site is probably the movie trailers you have. I can't remember when or how I found your site but it was a little over a year ago while I was looking for movie trailer websites. Your site always has the most trailers and you get them the earliest. Plus this way I don't have to see a shitty movie in order to see a good preview. Your website and excite.com are pretty much the only two websites I go to on a regular daily basis and I only go to excite.com to check my email. I also really like your news portion because I really like to keep up on new stuff that's happening in the movie business and I don't really know why but I feel I can trust your site.

---------------

Well I am a very big movie fan. I have seen A LOT of movies and don't intend to stop anytime soon. This site offers everything. Reviews, posters, wallpapers........etc But my favorite of all is the movie trailers! I always see them here first and always am the first one to know about them when I talk to people about it. It's funny, everytime I go to the theatre with my girlfriend and see a trailer she's like "this movie looks good when does it come out?" and I say "oh I saw this a while ago. It will be out..." before the preview is over. It keeps you up to date on all the movie news. This place is my ONE STOP SHOP!!!

---------------

I love JoBlo.com so much because it is simply the best movie website out there. The look and setup of the page makes AICN look as if it was created by a grade schooler. Also, I honestly feel that you are perhaps the most movie critic out there in that you don't hold every movie to the same set of criteria. You don't go into a Dumb and Dumber style of movie and expect the the same sort of qualities you expect from a P.T. Anderson flick. As far as the news goes, I love the little twists Mike Sampson puts on that days headlines. Even when I disagree with his opinion he rarely fails to generate some laughs from me. Lastly, JoBlo has the best movie discussion board I've been on. Most all of the Schmoes are intelligent and are usually respectful (ok, everyone once in awhile are respectful) of others opinions. There is just a lot of great movie talk going on in there.

---------------

Well, I first stumbled onto the site after mis-typing a search for blojo*.com and, after my initial disappointment, I was pleasantly surprised to find intelligent, non-pretentious reviews with a good mixture of story coverage, style, and personal perspective. Heck, I thought, these are reviews for the average "Joe Blow"!

---------------

Because you people are REAL.  You're not sucking up to anybody.  If you like or don't like something (and in some cases, if you really, really,
REALLY hate it), you'll do your damnedest (not sure that's a word, but oh well) to let us know.  You don't pull any punches when it comes to your opinion.  But most of all, I love JoBlo because, as the message boards suggest, you're all just average schmoes like us!  Well, maybe above-average, but you get my point.  You haven't been spoiled by all those high-class, artsy-fartsy, crapalamma-ding-dong films that seem to
have that effect of raising the expectations of "professional" critics so much that they don't like anything even halfway decent.  But you guys know what's good and what isn't when it comes to the average movie-going audience. And we all respect and love ya for it.  Bravo, god of
schmoes, bravo. *clapping*

---------------

The thing I love most about joblo.com is the fact that everything about this website is based on a true movie fan's point of view. From Arrow to Joey Baloney to JoBlo's reviews themselves, they are not critical bull, but instead insightful reviews from people who are just like other normal people with likes and dislikes. Most importantly, all of the people on this website are willing to tell what they like and dislike and have valid reasons why, instead of just going along with the critics or crowds, which makes the site unique in this world of one thought, one mind.

---------------

JoBlo and I have the same taste in movies. I try to see every movie that comes out; after I see a movie, I check to see what JoBlo thinks about it. We are always in the same ballpark. When all my friends loved In the Bedroom, I absolutely hated it. JoBlo shared my sentiments. It wasn't that, "Oh, you just didn't understand the movie, Ryan." Oh, I got the movie: IT JUST SUCKED!  It's awesome to have a movie critic you always agree with (however, I disagree with you on Waking Life.  That movie was awesome.)

---------------

First, I want to say that I'm an addict to your web page and I'm not doing ass-licking here! What I prefer about your page is that your reviews are extremely well-done and the point of view is from a guy that loves the movies, period. I'm not kidding around but each time I'm going to see a
flick in the theaters, I'm always watching your reviews because I know that almost all the time, you're right! Sometimes, I don't agree with you but
I'm not angry at you because you're not mean to movies, which I think is really important! I never saw "Beautiful" because of you and because I
know that I'm gonna hate it !  Anyway, you're funny, you're cool and really good. And for the whole site, it's like my bible because all the trailers
are here, all the recent news are here (and they are interesting and not stupid) and also, your dvd reviews and horror reviews (Arrow's the best) are really cool!

---------------

The movie news usually filters out the B.S. info and always comes from an "everyman" perspective. The wallpapers and screensavers are cool with a heavy emphasis on the hot ladies and the Arrow reviews are always cool and seem right on the money and I'm not even a horror genre fan.  Finally, the contests, there are a lot of them and I even won one once.  Coincidentally for the AI movie one-sheet/watch contest. Gotta love free, cool stuff!

---------------

You know as well as I do that there are hundreds of movie-related websites out there. Some better than others, some just plain pitiful. Who has the time to weed through them all? Not me. When I find a good movie website, I stick with it. So far, JoBlo.com hasn't steered me wrong. I discovered JoBlo.com while searching for a site that offered the weekend's box office totals. After looking over the entire site, I found it to be extremely thorough and very entertaining.

2) What is your favorite quote from one of my movie reviews and why?

"One moment they're in the present time, the next moment, they're in Italy in the 1600s. Why? Who knows. What are they talking about? No idea. Flashbacks mixed in with the present, mixed in with a few spontaneously cheesy fight sequences every now and again, and I even remember seeing one flashback scene which went even further into its own flashback scene!! Hullo...?!? Confused yet?" This is from your Highlander: Endgame review. Much props to you because it is so true. Actually I use some of your lines to others who are Highlander fans... shh...

--------------

"...a good solid mystery stroked with plenty of mind-fuck details have always been at the top of my list." In reference to Vanilla Sky, probably one of my favorite movies of all time. A truer word was never spoken. Not to mention the mental imagery that soon came with reading that line. *shudder* Nevertheless, God bless you, JoBlo.

--------------

"Embarrassing...just plain embarrassing" -- Rollerball. I couldn't agree with you more. The original with James Cann and John Houseman is one of my favorite "message movies" from the 1970s. You know, the sci-fi movies that tried to portray some sort of moral in their story like Soylent Green, Rollerball, THX-1138, Silent Running, Planet of the Apes, The Andromeda Strain and Logan's Run. But this remake was the most atrocious piece of film released since last year's Dungeons & Dragons. And that's saying a lot.

--------------

"Their performances, in one word, were... splendid" when you were discussing the lovely Katie Holmes's tit scene in The Gift (a great movie...and man, Ms. Holmes has a nice friggen rack) LOL i am happy to hear we have the same taste in actresses' tits. tits. what a cool word. i just can't stop saying it. tits. titalicious.

--------------

I think my favorite quote comes from your review of Mission To Mars. The quote is: "And on a personal note, I think it's time for DePalma to stop worrying so much about his proverbial 12-minute uninterrupted film sequences, and start worrying more about how crappy his movies are getting." This is my favorite because it is so true. I mean come on. This crap from the man who brought us Carrie, Blow Out, Scarface, and The Untouchables?

--------------

"A surprisingly potent love story is placed inside a red-hot bottle of music, dance, colors and vibrancy, and splashed across your movie screen with love as its foundation. Will everyone like it? Certainly not"-- Moulin Rouge. In your reviews you never cease to amaze me, you use a great vocabulary and paint vivid pictures in the readers' heads without giving the story away, and you still leave people to their own opinions. This is definitely a good sign of a true critic, and a true movie lover. Your taste in movies is not unlike mine, and I always read your judgments, though at times I disagree I can always relate to your points. Moulin Rouge is still to this day, and also to my surprise, one of my favorite movies of all time, trailing such greats as Star Wars and Braveheart, and you managed to put into words exactly how I felt the movie would seem to other people. At the same time you are telling people they may not like what you did indeed enjoy, which a lot of critics these days can not do well. For that I salute you and say that this is one of my favorite moments in JoBlo Review history.

---------------

"War is hell. I say again...war is hell!" -JoBlo in his Black Hawk Down review. I like this statement because it is the truest thing I have ever read. War is hell and everyone should know it. Plus it was a great thing to open up your review with for two reasons. 1) It let people know the tone of the film. It is not a sugar-coated no gore war film. This is a raw view of the 1993 tragedy. 2) It opened it up with a bang. It got the reader on his toes. That is my favorite quote of yours that I can remember.

---------------

"So maybe 12-year old girls might appreciate this, but parents beware, this "role model" loves wearing garter belts (in public, yo!), sponges more make-up on her face than Tammy Faye Baker, loves those damn short skirts and believes cleavage to be an accessory in itself! That's right...show us your tits and ass, girls...that's how men really respect you! Ugh." Some movies beg to be laughed at, and Glitter is probably one of the daddies of them all. I love reading bad reviews to stupid movies, and this quote is the best I've seen. My cousin and I love watching bad movies and emailing each other funny quotes from bad movies, and as soon as I saw this one I sent it to her. Along with Entertainment Weekly's "crapsterpiece" remark, this quote is gonna stay with me forever. By the way, I really admire you for sitting through the movie... twice, for the review. Even I found this movie completely painful to sit through.

---------------

Well, I remember reading your In the Bedroom review and thinking, "Wow, he's so right!" This quote really awakened something in me. (Sorry that I picked such a long quote, but I thought it was necessary to take this entire quote). Here it is: "I've always been a huge movie fan but remember getting clearly aggravated at the number of crappy, pretentious "small" films that movie critics would call "genius" a few years back, while dismissing the handful of "fun" films simply because they lacked any deeper resonance than the apparently "simple" ability to entertain audiences (just because a movie is independently made, moves slowly and features acclaimed actors, doesn't necessarily make it a great film!). It's at that time, that I started to pen my own reviews, in the hopes of offering a somewhat more variant point of view to the masses, while being able! to appreciate many smaller (good) films like YOU CAN COUNT ON ME and MEMENTO, as well as giving up the props to the more fun-filled entertainment vehicles like ARMAGEDDON and CHARLIE'S ANGELS." I thought this quote really embodied what your site is really about, and why your reviews are, in my humble opinion, so much more relevant than all the other "sophisticated" critics' reviews out there.

---------------

"Every now and then, a film comes along with balls big enough to pull you by the hair, bang you against the wall and order you to 'wake the fuck up!' and question your entire purpose of life." (from the Fight Club opening line) -- My sentiments exactly. A rough but meaningful line from a rough but meaningful movie. If you've seen the movie and you know what I'm talking about, no more needs to be said.

---------------

Of all the reviews I remember reading, the one quote that stands out is from the movie Teaching Mrs.Tingle. What JoBlo wrote was: "It's not so much that this is a bad movie, than the fact that it sucks." This quote stood out because it shows how down-to-earth JoBlo is. He gets straight to the point. If the movie sucks, he tells you right away, "IT SUCKS!" If it's good, he'll tell you in the first three lines. JoBlo explains the pros and cons of a particular film without getting all "Elvis Mitchell." Elvis Mitchell is a film critic for the New York Times who doesn't actually review the film, but tries to show off by comparing the film to every other movie ever made.

---------------

"Completely idiotic. Okay, so maybe I'm being a little too nice. ... maybe I'm just too jaded, too much of a critic, not relaxed enough to enjoy this fluff-piece... uuuhhmmm... naaaaah!! This movie sucks the big one." I would have included the entire first paragraph from your review of Head Over Heels, my pick as the worst movie of 2001, but I think that gets the idea across. I think I enjoyed this quote because I read it almost immediately after having seen the movie and I really needed someone who agreed with me completely and who had already translated their hatred into words. I was also glad that, instead of reminding me of the movie, your comments simply reminded me of how nice it was that I had finished watching it.

---------------

Whenever I have free time to spend abusing my college's free internet service, I usually check out trivia of movies at IMDB and read your old reviews of movies. I was reading your review to The Mummy Returns and you were talking about how the movie was unrealistic and said something to the effect of "I dont mind farfetchness, but when McGyver pops into your head, its a bad thing." Couldn't stop laughing at that cause I thought the same exact thing while watching the movie. What was amazing to me was the fact that the kid had an uncanny ability to make sand castles of whatever place he saw in his vision. Unrelated to your quote, but another thing that bugged me was the over hyped appearance of the Rock, who, not counting the CGI at the end, appeared for about 5 minutes.

---------------

"Skip this one altogether and rent any of the INDIANA JONES movies instead...trust me, you'll miss the boobs but end your night with some rock-solid porn and it's all good!"-- Tomb Raider! Why?, because it is so true!!

---------------

My favorite is from your review of Bully: "There are several naked shots of kids that have NO REASON to be in the film, other than to stimulate some kind of sick reaction from the audience (certain crotch angles as well). There is a girl talking on the phone naked. I mean, does she really have to be naked, dude? This kind of over-the-top smuttiness wasn't appreciated, as the story was interesting enough as it was, even without all of that malarkey." Because I felt the exact same way when I saw the movie. I'm an eighteen year old girl so I thought that maybe my reaction was just because I don't really feel the need to see that much nakedness of a girl my age (or any age) but I was really happy when you had the same opinion, it couldn't have been just me who thought that. I also really liked the Crossroads review, i read it to all my friends and even the ones who like Britney (b/c sadly I do have friends that like her) thought it was hilarious.

---------------

From 2001: A Space Travesty: "If you want more laughs from a movie, rent Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY...trust me, it's funnier." - JoBlo. I read this review only shortly after seeing Kubrick's "Space Odyssey" flick for the first time, so given how much I disliked the movie, that line really hit home... a good chuckle never hurt anyone.

---------------

"If you are the type of person who appreciates every minute of your life, then you may just enjoy this film to its fullest potential. If you are the type of person who doesn't appreciate every minute of your life or the people around you, then you may just need to see this film, and learn to appreciate its full potential. Having said that, this film is definitely an "adult" film to be savored by people who are in touch with themselves and appreciate a frank, sometimes brutally honest, look at their pathetic and drab existence." -- American Beauty

---------------

Armageddon: "The acting was passable, with Willis pulling off a "regular guy" without too many wise cracks this time, Affleck doing his shtick to perfection, and Tyler, well, being there. Steve Buscemi of RESERVOIR DOGS (9/10) fame also deserves a nod for being the perfect wise-cracker in this one (And boy, are his teeth ever crooked or what??)." Armageddon is my all time favorite movie. I almost passed on seeing it because Bruce Willis was in it. That little smirking thing he does with his lips drives me crazy. Every time he smirks it feels like he is uncomfortable in front of the camera which reminds me that I am watching a movie which pulls me out of the experience which leads me to want to smack that smirk right off of his face! Ugh. His wise cracking has a similar effect on me as it feels like he does a lot of it out of nervousness. It's really unprofessional and I have little tolerance for it. Oddly enough, Steve Buscemi is the consummate actor and when he wise-cracks I get that it comes from the inner workings of his character and not a dysfunction of his personality. Anyway, this is just some spewing. The best part of the quote is: (And boy, are his teeth ever crooked or what??). Of all the wonderful flag waving, rocketing shooting, brass-beating, smart saluting and poignant one-liners, I generally recall the scene when they are landing on the asteroid and we get a close-up of Buscemi's wide opened mouth. I'm amazed he doesn't have teeth growing on his tonsils!

---------------

My favorite quote from one of your reviews is from the review for Memento: "But for those people, those few proud men and women, those who love to watch movies and talk movies and shit movies, I tell you, there probably isn't going to be many better films than this one this year, so buy that ticket, shut out all those external circumstances and people (in other words, don't see it in a busy theater or with someone who wants to talk crap while you watch) and get ready to allow your mind to be thoroughly f*cked through the ringer...but in a good way! :)" Absolutely brilliant (the movie and the review/quote)! Your conversational yet informative style in the reviews always comes through clearly, and that makes you infinitely more worthwhile than any of the stuffy critics (online or otherwise) that try to run the show. You always lay all the cards on the table and tell it like it is. As one of those movie people you so accurately described, I can totally appreciate everything you do with this site, especially since I tend to agree with you on most of your opinions.

---------------

My favorite quote was from a review you did for Gone in Sixty Seconds. Here it is: "Just like every other Bruckheimer machismo guy flick, there is always the prerequisite situation (I like to call it the "A-Team scene") featuring the rounding up of a certain motley crew of gruffy, down-and-out and badass MoFos, and the mobilization of the master plan." I laughed my ass off at this because it is just so true about Jerry Bruckheimer (and guy flicks...lol!).

---------------

From Glitter: "I did however respect director Curtis-Hall for having the cajones to slap an actual commentary track on his turkey (he actually says that one of his goals when he took on this project was to make a "good movie"-- poor guy!)" I respect this line, because it is one of life's little-heralded joys to hear a director discuss, in a serious mode, the making of a truly horrendous film. Curtis-Hall's commentary may not rank up with my personal favorite commentary of BATTLEFIELD EARTH (Oh, God, was that funny!), but anyone with the nerve to 'fess up to something as vomit-inducing as GLITTER needs an award of some kind, because how do you walk straight with balls that big?

---------------

There are a lot of them ".....but if he was trying to make an interesting movie, he failed miserably. Think CLUE, but without the fun, intrigue or cohesiveness."-- Gosford Park. JoBlo is not afraid to say flat out what some critics and movie goers would like to say. It is not because a movie is nominated for best movie that is interesting and worth watching. I think like JoBlo if a movie is not entertaining (whoever is in it or directed it) then it's a movie not worth watching. If a movie is only appreciated by a handful of people how can it be even considered best movie??

---------------

The Family Man: "I could relate to the main character in this movie. No, I am not a family man (yet), but I am presently going through a period in my life, where work has taken precedence over much else, and despite most of it paying off, certain sacrifices are being made to succeed on a professional level". I am 19, I might not know too much about life but I believe in true character, that is why I believe in your quote. I am not here to kiss some ass but after reading how you were relating this movie into your personal life, I was impressed. I was happy to know that someone out there was actually reviewing a movie with an open mind. I know a lot of people who go to movies and critique the film all the way through without even opening their mind. You're a true critic.

---------------

In response to your second question, I'd have to say that I really don't have a favorite quote from your reviews, I just like your reviews in general. What I like most is the fact that no matter what people say in disagreement with your opinions, you stay strong: the true sign of a good critic. Few times I recall that you've gone back and changed your reviews/ratings, all of which I am sure were for good causes. Even the movies I loved, and many others loved, you simply reviewed as being mediocre. The fact that you gave LORD OF THE RINGS a 7 of 10, which I admit that I don't disagree with as much as most others do, and stood by your rating. I'm glad that you showed to the countless LOTR fanatics that, yes, the movie was good, but it's really not necessary to be so fanatical about that movie!

---------------

"...this movie certainly doesn't "go wrong" but the truth of the matter is that if it wasn't for those five names, I doubt that this story would ever have been greenlit by anyone anywhere else..." - Ocean's 11. I chose that quote because it's true and I agree with it 100%. That movie was promoted as it was a new world wonder that was coming towards us, a big time name cast, a newly hot director, what do you want more? Well, a good movie would be a good thing actually, lol. I think the movie was so-so and your view and that quote in particularly shows that you and your friends don't run a website which puts up review to kiss studios asses to get something in return, this way is the way you earn respect, with honesty. If you were another site (I won't name any names) most of reviews for movies like this would be "it's awesome" but you guys tell it like it is which is what I like about the review on joblo.com. You see it as it is, not the way the studios wish you to see it so they might give you some news scoops or whatever in return in the future.

---------------

"I was happier than a fly on shit" Collateral Damage, 2002. Why? You'll never catch Roger Ebert saying that. Hilarious!

---------------

Fight Club: "Every now and then, a film comes along with balls big enough to pull you by the hair, bang you against the wall and order you to "wake the fuck up!" and question your entire purpose of life." The reason I like this quote so much is, not that Fight Club is probably my favorite all-time movie, but it basically says exactly what the point of the movie is! Unlike other reviewers who were negative and just said Fight Club was a cheap, whiny movie, that was trying to make a message, but was just an excuse for guys to fight each other. Your entire review ran down what the movie was and what it was trying to say, and the quote I chose was probably the best opening "critique" I've ever read on the movie. Best line EVER.

---------------

My favorite quote is "Aaaaaw shit, it's Oscar season again! Oops, I mean...whoopee, it's Oscar season again!! Well, whether or not you dig on Oscar flicks, that time of year has swung around once more, and it's time to pack up the tissues, brush up on your British speak and history, and drink lotsa caffeine, because the more "refined" films are about to come slamming into your local theatre houses." (Life As A House). I picked this one because I was dying to see this film (and not because of Darth Vader, I thought it looked good) and once I saw the first sentence I was so excited to see it. I ended up seeing it two times because I thought it was so good. Even though your first sentence was wronged when the nominations came out, I totally agreed with you. Then, when I looked at other sites, i.e. Rotten Tomatoes, and saw how many critics hated it, well, I realized you are usually more better at this stuff than they are.

---------------

My favorite quote is found within the review for Mulholland Drive: "I've always been on the fence with Lynch's overall repertoire of films, I thought LOST HIGHWAY and BLUE VELVET were genius but hated the piss out of TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME and ERASERHEAD, but always admired the courageous bastard for having the cajones to try different things in film and mix things up a little." I have never heard David Lynch summed up better in one sentence.

---------------

"I don't think I've ever seen a film which gives the viewer a greater understanding of what it's like to be in the skin of the film's lead character"-- Memento. WHY? Because I did not see Memento when it came out on theaters because it did not seem that interesting. One day out the blue my girlfriend brought it home on DVD and decided to make a night of it. I must say that at 24, I have seen and enjoyed thousands of movies but none like this one. The feeling that I got from thinking as hard as I could to solve the mystery was so intense, that until the last 2 minutes of the movie I realized exactly what was going on and why the whole thing happened. I think this quote from your movie review better explains what exactly was that attracted me to the movie.

---------------

When I first read your review about "American Psycho" there was one thing that stuck with me. You said: "Well, he essentially does what everyone in that world was doing from day to day...hiding their secrets on the inside, while maintaining a mask of serenity on the outs". What stuck with me, is that it's so true. Think about it. In today's world, every person on the face of the earth has a secret. It could be from being gay, having an affair, or even commit murder, like in Patrick Bateman's case. He had a secret in which nobody knew about. He did it, because he loved doing it. He hid it from the rest of the world, until you became the victim. We learned that Patrick Bateman was just thinking about it in his head. He kept it to himself, until the real truth was revealed.

---------------

From Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back: "Be forewarned.... and the reason that I was fuckin' swearing in the first line of this fuckin' review is because this fuckin' movie doesn't give a shit about any fuckin' shit like that." --> Reason: The best line that can possibly describe Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back in one sentence.

---------------

Now first off I have to be honest and say that I don't really read the reviews much. I sort of just check the rating you give it and skim it and I only do this for movies I'm really interested in. But I decided to look through a bunch and find a quote I really like and I was really surprised where I came across the one I chose. It was in the review for none other than the epic Crossroads starring the soon to win an oscar (fingers crossed) Britney Spears. Now I haven't seen the movie and don't intend to. I was actually hoping for you to say something funny in the review that I could use. Humor aside though I liked "Of course, I'm not going to pretend that this movie is targeted to me in the first place, so you should definitely take my "manly" opinion with a grain of salt." I liked it because it's not saying the movie is shit because you didn't like it. You're being a big enough to person to say "hey, this movie wasn't my thing, it wasn't meant to be my thing, but! who knows maybe you'll like it." I thought that was a really good thing to say because it's just like her music. I don't like it, it's not my thing, but someone does and who am I to judge them for it?

---------------

"Sadly, I'm still a horny man and was turned on by the many g-string ass-shots in the film and even more so, by the lead babe in the movie, one
Ophelie Winter, whose hooters are the only reasons that this movie is getting even two points out of the possible ten."-- 2001: A Space Travesty. No matter how bad a movie is -- You still find something you like. That shows you are doing it because you like movies.

---------------

My favorite quote is this from the Bluestreak review: "Yes, I laughed a-plenty and it eased away, at least for that sweet moment, some of the pain that continually drips through my useless existence from the minute I step out of my grungy bed in the mornings, to the moment I drop the proverbial kleenex in the toilet bowl at nights (Just kidding! Just wanted to make sure that people are actually reading my reviews all the way through :). Gotcha!" I had the weirdest expression on my face as I was reading this and had me wondering "what the hell is he talking about." It made me laugh when I finished reading it.

---------------

From Ravenous: "Look mom, there's an arm! And there's a leg! Fun for the whole family. Well maybe the Addams Family." This movie is for families with discriminating taste. Like they say " eat to live and not live to eat"

---------------

"Every now and then, a film comes along with balls big enough to pull you by the hair, bang you against the wall and order you to wake the fuck up." (from JoBlo's review of Fight Club) How this comment never made it onto any of the newspapers ads or even on the back of the DVD and VHS tape is beyond me. It would have made a perfect quote for the insert booklet that came with the DVD. Some critics wrote page long reviews of the Fight Club and never captured the essence of the film and you were able to do it in on neat and concise sentence.

---------------

My favorite quote from one of your movie reviews is this quote from your A.I. review: "The truth behind this film is that it's really about humans...not robots. The cruelty of some humans. The love and kindness of others. The world has become a harsh place for many people to inhabit, and sometimes our own ability to shut down our emotional core enables us to survive from day to day. But doesn't that negate what being a human being is all about? Living, feeling, loving and even getting hurt? I don't know." My God! It's like you ripped my thoughts and feeling right out of me! Thanks and what a relief - you've reaffirmed for me that there ARE others.

---------------

I wasn't even going to enter this contest, because I didn't have any "favorite" quotes (they're all gems! OK, I'll stop sucking up now), until I read your recent review of "The Time Machine". I was laughing out loud at the line "...the movie careens into shitsville and makes no pit-stops to wipe." Classic.

---------------

"Why....because its fuckin funny that's why!!" Review for Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.  I love Kevin Smith movies.  Mallrats is still the best.  Loved the whole review because of all the fuckin profanity foreshadowing.  The fuckin review was right fuckin on, and those who fuckin don't like swearing fuckin knew right off the bat to stop fuckin reading the review.  Plus it was just a fuckin funny reason to watch the movie....because its fuckin funny.

---------------

"This movie is hilarious...hilariously bad!" - quote from Beautiful. This is has to be my favorite quote because like I said you go into detail about what you really thought about the movie. Kinda like the show "The Last Word" only for movies! LOL JoBlo.com Rocks!

---------------

"Blue Steel, baby...yeah!!!"-- Zoolander. I liked it cause a lot of other reviewers are kind of serious about things and this just shows how JoBlo is pretty wild and has a sense of humor about his reviews.

---------------

My favorite quote is from your review of The Animal. "I also drooled over one particular scene of a lovely lady sauntering down a sidewalk in a mini white dress or skirt or whatever. Not exactly sure what happened after that, because as soon as she bent over...so did I!" This is a great quote because my friends and I all had the same reaction when we watched that part of the movie!

---------------

My favorite quote is “This is definitely NOT a scary movie.” From your review for the movie The Blair Witch Project. The worst movie I ever saw, if you could call it a movie. I chose that quote, because I’m glad to see someone agrees with me. Advertised as the scariest movie of all time, it’s definitely NOT a scary movie.

---------------

"Get ready to allow your mind to be thoroughly f*cked through the ringer...but in a good way! :)"-- Memento. I enjoyed this because that is how I would describe Memento if I was going to put some thought in it and wasn't talking to my parents.  Memento is my favorite movie and I ended
up buying Following and am looking forward to Insomnia because of it. I also like the quote because my mind is still in the ringer and I haven't watched the movie for over 2 months.

---------------

Favorite quote from a review: The entire review for Waking Life.  I haven’t seen it yet, nor (based on many reviews including yours) do I care to.  I am fairly certain that the review is more entertaining than the movie itself.

---------------

"This flick feels like a turd that nobody ever bothered to clean off the floor and just ended up getting stinkier and stinkier and stinkier." JoBlo's review of Rollerball. I feel the same way about half these so called "movies" being shit out into theaters.

---------------

"I was disappointed with one specific aspect of the movie. If you're gonna have a movie about potheads and strip joints and big breasted aliens, how'sabout showing us a little T&A every now and then?" I liked that quote from your Dude, Where's My Car? review! It's true! I always feel a movie that boasts major cleavage should just go that extra step and show us some tits!! It's how I felt with one of my favorite comedies JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK, I wish we coulda seen some of the hot ass girls in that movie naked (especially since to me, Shannon Elizabeth is the hottest chick alive)

---------------

My favorite quote would have you be the one you said when you reviewed Memento: "Every now and again, a film comes out and reminds us of how cool movie watching can be. How a film can just take a hold of your mind, massage it a little here, toss you a little clue there, show you something here, and allow you the opportunity to take part in a real-life mystery of the mind."  I just love that. Don't ask me why-I'm weird. I just know where you're coming from. I mean, when I watch a movie like Memento and I just feel so cool. Your mind just feels like in it's in another place, so I know where you're coming from.

---------------

Brotherhood of the Wolf quote: "Oh yeah, there's also some T&A for the kids, some deep-rooted narrative resolution for the adults and plenty of swash-buckling, ass-kicking, beast-taming and bone-crunching for everyone." -- does that not just say it all in one line or what!?!  Perfect synopsis.

---------------

From Fight Club review:  Every now and then, a film comes along with balls big enough to pull you by the hair, bang you against the wall and
order you to "wake the fuck up!" and question your entire purpose of life. Do I even need to explain why?  The statement is bold but yet sums up the film in one incredible statement.  The film's message is as painful (but at the same time mind clearing) as an excruciating blow to the testicles. Not to mention the fact that I don't think Roger Ebert would ever be ballsy enough to write that!
