A movie based on the Dark Horse high-concept horror comic DAMN NATION has been in the works for several years, but it should gather substantial steam now that the vampire genre has sunk its fangs into bank accounts and is cheerfully slurping away.

Paramount's futuristic bloodsucker project will come from THOR writers Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz, who have also scripted TV's "Fringe" and "Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles".

Writer Andrew Cosby's original comic story finds America abandoned after being overrun with an infestation of vampires. When a mysterious radio transmission from within the contaminated country claims they've found a cure, a paramilitary team returns to the US from their new London location to retrieve it.

Extra Tidbit: Cosby co-created the Sci-Fi Channel series "Eureka", and runs comic publisher Boom! Studios with partner Ross Richie.

I'm starting to get overwhelmed by all the comic book adaptations coming to us. Granted, comic books have been telling good stories for a while. Curious about the writers...
