Here it is, Batmaniacs! The teaser trailer for THE DARK KNIGHT. (The official one, not that amateurish clip with the falling cards that hundreds of readers previously pointed us to.) And you didn't even have to travel to Comic Con to see it! Hooray for internets!

Just head to the latest Joker viral site RIGHT HERE and click the tiny box next to the word "Handed". Bang, you'll get an exhilarating conversation between Bruce Wayne and his butler! Plus some other clown.

Remember when films had 1 fucking trailer? Maybe 2 at the maximum... Anyone remember the teaser for INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM? It told us where the film was shooting, who was involved and it gave us the logo and a brief snippet of Indy from RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK. If you own the original VHS copy of RAIDERS, you'd see this. That's called a "TEASER", folks. It teases you with ideas and just the idea of the film itself. If this were a real "TRAILER", I'd be mad. But it ain't.

This one has several towards the end that Im not so sure about of Two Face NOT Harvey Dent but 2 face. If they ar real though, they look fantastic to me, a more realistic version of the scarring.

Even knowing I was about to hear his voice (from reading others reactions), I could hardly tell that was supposed to be the joker until he laughed, so for all intents and purposes the trailer even failed to be clear to those who knew it was coming, let alone the uninitiated...

thought the "teaser" was good except for the joker part, sounds too much like mark hamill from the cartoon.. don't get me wrong i like it, but wishing it was a little more different and more of ledger not hamill sound...

If you can remember, the first teaser for Batman Begins had some footage and quick Batman image at the end. This teaser is only ok, maybe they rushed releasing it.

I also love the fact that this representation of The Joker sounds like he starts out as a mob enforcer and then the mob has no idea what the hell they've just unleashed. It places this film well within Nolan's more realistic, less fuckheaded Burton/Schumacher world.

The small bit on that teaser eases my mind greatly about Ledger as the Joker. He sounded giddy and psychotic and he sounded like he meant what he said. The laugh was spot on also. Good stuff! Burn the world my man!
