Ok, so the first teaser that came out made me not want to see this movie at all regardless of enjoying the dragonball series as a child... it looked like Fast and the Furious meets Spy Kids... now that the new international trailer has come out... it's gradually looking a bit better....it still has that spy kids flare to it but it also has this Mortal Kombat thing going on as well ... so it does look a bit dated... i don't care... some of my most fond memories with movies are still the ones that came out 20 years ago..lol... i'm hoping for the best with this take on Dragonball... and if it does in fact stay true to the series .. GREAT.. if not... well atleast they tried and i can get it second hand at Blockbuster

i'm not that into the show, but i know enough from watchin it a lot when i was a kid, and it seems they took out everything that made the original so cool.

He was little kid, an innocent, awestruck by everything, excited by adventure. How the hell did he get changed into this brooding, moody loser? Piccolo seems all right, but damn, this looks bad... 1-I'd rather jerk myself off with a fist full of broken glass than pay good money to see this.

SPEED RACER was infact one of the best movies this year and definately the most underated. It was visually amazing and very well executed...so stop the comparisson and as for this movie it looks like SHIT and from the time they had a caucasian lead and a mediocre director it was a given so...what did anyone else fuckin expect????

I'll admit it I wasn't too keen on seeing this film but as a fan of the show and now the new movie trailer I'll give this film a chance and I will be seening it no matter the reviews or critics.

While never a DB, DBZ, or DBGT fan I respect the property and did enjoy a few arcs of the series (Cell saga, in particular). This trailer looks fine to me. The effects are cartoonish, the characters seem appropriate...

While never a DB, DBZ, or DBGT fan I respect the property and did enjoy a few arcs of the series (Cell saga, in particular). This trailer looks fine to me. The effects are cartoonish, the characters seem appropriately understated (truth be told, in the manga and anime they were only as "epic" as the current storyline was), and it's changed just enough to garner a reaction from source fans and the newly exposed alike.

You can't please anyone, and I think a Wachowski "Speed Racer" style visuals would best be suited, but I think this will be okay. I'm not sure "fun" is the right phrase just yet, but it has the potential to be so... and, not to burst anyone's bubble, this flick is probably going to make a killing in Japan, and do modestly in the US- this is probably just the beginning.
