Nothing is worse for a company than to have a major problem with a major release. Such is the case with Fox and SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE.

I picked up Slumdog on DVD yesterday and I was super excited to see it again. My boyfriend and I wanted to watch the Special Features on the DVD, there is nothing there. It's only trailers for other movies. There are NO deleted scenes, commentary, and no making of featurette. Thought you guys might know something about this. Long time fan of the site! Leeann

Yikes!!! What a sham! That’s horrible, but it does happen. In this case, it looks like it was a disc writing issue that’s affected a significant number of releases. Fox issued the following statement:

DVD Alert: We are aware that special features were missing from a number of Slumdog Millionaire DVDs. Fox has set up a hotline telephone number (1-888-223-4FOX) for those consumers who may have purchased a version that does not contain special features. Upon calling the hotline, these consumers will be able to have their disc replaced for one containing special features. Fox regrets any inconvenience this has caused.

Not cool to leave out the special features

When I read the email, I had to check my Blu-ray copy and it appears to be fine. As far as I can tell, the Blu-rays are not affected. If anyone has any problems with their Blu-ray, please write in and let me know. Otherwise, if you’re having problems with the DVD, call the number that Fox provided and they’ll take care of you.
