Well, this was a surprise to wake up to.

Sony and Netflix have announced their partnership in bringing the Instant Watch feature to the PS3 at no extra charge. XBOX 360 owners currently has the Instant Watch feature but users pay an Xbox Live Gold fee of $50 (worth it if you're an avid online player). No date has been announced for the feature as of yet.

The service is said to be enabled by a streaming Blu-ray disc that will enable the user to interact with the Netflix interface and utilize Instant Watch via BD-Live technology. A firmware update for the PS3 to bypass the disc could be possible in the future.

So what do you guys think about this? I've recently been thinking about buying a 360 for the sole purpose of Netflix streaming (and GTA IV DLC) but this kind of changes things.

I have PS3 and I enjoy it very much. I have Netflix and enjoy that very much too, and the two together is a great idea, except for one problem...hardly any HD.
You can stream movies through Netflix to your PS3...

You can stream movies through Netflix to your PS3 but less than half their selection is in HD, and the movies that I have watched like Underworld 3 and Paul Blart are not, but movies that i don't want to watch like 3 Ninjas Part 3 are.
I talked with Netflix and they are in the process of getting all titles in streaming to be in HD but it takes time and they need more members to request it so it is in fact what we the people want. So I'm just waiting for my HD stream to be compliment my HD player and HD tv.

is coming on top now. this year they had so many great games and then next year more and more. it took a little time but dude, after Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2, and inFamous and Ratchet and a few others this year- PS3...

I had one for a few months, mainy for MGS4. Well MGS4 was way overated and the other exclusives are mediocre at best. 360's online service is far supieror to PS3. And if you cannot afford $.13 a day, you have bigger...

thats the biggest load of horeshit i've ever read on here.
PS3 has more AAA exclusives than Xbox 360- FACT.
MGS4 is an EXCELLTENT game. you are just some trolling 360 fanboy loser.
PS3 has great game after great game, MGS4, Resistance, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, InFamous, Killzone 2, Socom, LittleBigPlanet, God of War 3, Gran Turismo 5, MAG, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc
