Strike Back below!
by: Omar Aviles Oct. 24, 2007

Update: The folks over at IESB just went ahead and debunked this rumor. Read about it HERE.

Rupert Evans An operative deep inside the upcoming George Miller directed JUSTICE LEAGUE film recently threw out a rather intriguing rumor about the casting of Superman in the film. It seems former BPRD agent and one time Liz Sherman suitor Rupert Evans is the front runner to land the coveted role of the Man of Steel. Judging by what our operative, Codename L., mentioned, it seems pretty likely that he'll be donning the red and blue tights but, as always, please do take it as just a rumor until we get official confirmation. If it is indeed true, however, what do you guys think about this guy becoming everyone's favorite Kryptonian? Please, feel free to strike back at will. In the meantime, you can see Evans in the upcoming drama GUANTANAMERO and you can hear him the upcoming video game "Haze".

Extra Tidbit: Evans trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, whose alumni include Terence Stamp, Julia Ormond, Rupert Friend, Angela Lansbury and Minnie Driver.

THE RANDOM GAME
Wow. I didn't know you could choose actors at random. It's like Warner and Miller sat down one day and took this list of actors and played 'Pick The Random Actor' game. And Superman just landed on 'whats-his-face- Evans. Wow. Incredible way of choosing cast. Seriously. Hey...maybe Batman could be Dwayne The Rock Johnson. Wow, this just keeps going from bad (first, it's an animated JLA movie) to worse (then, it's a live-action JLA movie) to total $%#@ing disaster (now, it's a Superfriends movie).

So, no Whedon's Wonder Woman. No more Singer's Superman. And Nolan's Batman is likely to be completely Schumachered (remember, Batman Begins had a very tentative opening weekend 'cause Joe Public hadn'...

Sigh.

Superman III. Superman IV. Batman Forever. Batman & Robin. Catwoman. Constantine.

How's the saying go? About doing the same thing over and over and always expecting different results?

Why don't they just hire Brett Ratner to direct this thing and have done with it?

F'IN Lame
How can they even be considering doing this movie without anyone but routh for superman and bale for batman. casting anyone else wont ruin either the batman or superman individual franchises because they are both great in their roles, but it will ruin the justice league franchines big time.

Underwhelmed...
That's my reaction to this news. And when you're talking about casting someone as iconic as Superman, that is a bad way to feel.

That's one of the worst possible people that they could choose for Superman. I hope that this turns out to be untrue.

Yikes!
He sucked in "Hellboy", that's all I have to say. I'm so glad that he's not returning in the sequel. As for this, I just can't see it but maybe I'll be surprised.
