EXCL: The TDK DVDs?

Details are a little sketchy on what the DARK KNIGHT DVDs are going to include but seeing as how it's poised to become a) the second biggest movie of all-time and b) the biggest movie released in the DVD era, we knew you'd expect a lot of different versions to be available. While we still don't have a lot of the specs on what these DVDs will contain, we are starting to get some word on what kinds of versions will be available. A scooper named "Dave" sent in some images that we've been able to confirm as legit. They would confirm a 2-disc DVD, a Blu-ray, a steelbook 2-disc DVD special edition, a Batpod collector's DVD and a Batman mask collector's DVD (basically the 2-disc DVD shrink-wrapped with a Batman mask).

And about Blue Ray: Fuck that. DVD is STILL the main format. Sorry blue Ray owners but you're gonna have to deal with the fact that right now, more people will be buying DVD than Blue Ray; it's still the most popular format. Why put more shit on the format that less people buy?

I agree though: I want Ledger on the front with Batman. I think the scene where he is interrogating him and gets in his face could be turned into an awesome DVD/Blueray cover.

Also, I want the cowl AND a joker mask. That'd be awesome.

I like the batman cover. It seems real old school to me, lke it'd be the cover for the original movie. I like that.

To those thinking the 2disc cover sucks, think about this. Maybe that picture shows just batman but maybe if you tilt it, it shows harvey dent and joker too. Dont know how better to explain it. Rofl.

...yeah I agree that the cover for the 2-disc edition sucks! Wow, I never knew I'd use the word 'sucks' in a TDK sentence. Wow. Anyway, I think it's supposed to look crappy...coz then everyone will pick up the steelbox which'll cost more. And yes, why can't they make the spines similar, damnit!?

As for me, I've already made space for the steelbox edition. Batpod looks amazing but...

Does anyone else think that the regular 2 disc cover looks stupid. Maybe that poster worked as a series with the Joker and Harvey Dent ones.... but by itself as a dvd cover??? pfffft. The rest look cool.

Steelbook is my pick. If i wanted a toy batpod or batman mask I can always buy them separately.

And I agree with the comments below, is that hard to make the spines on a dvd match with the rest of the series? (i'm looking at you, bourne movies).

Mask edition a must have? Dude, I bought that mask 3 years ago at Wal-Mart for 2 dollars. I swear it is the exact same thing.

I just saw the movie again last night on IMax...ugh, SOOO GOOOD!! Anywho, I agree with PenguinSlide, I prefer the spines to match. I remember when Karate Kid came out in a white box and then they released 2 and 3 in black boxes. I was like, "WHAT THE??? THE WHO THE??? I WANT SOMEBODY FIRED!!!" Lucky for me I found boxes to switch around so that they would match. Box color should match, fo...

Okay, I'm sick of this. My BATMAN BEGINS DVD has a spine. It's the same spine on both 2-disc and 1-disc versions. What I want is an edition with the same spine style, so that on the shelf they look like they belong together.

Anyone else buy Casino Royale, put it next to the rest of their bond movies and realize it doesn't match? S#!+ like that pisses me off. Is it THAT hard?...

How much do I have to bet that when these finally get released, the "Steel Book Edition" will be scraped from store shelves almost immediately followed by the disappearance of the "Batpod Edition".

Either way, this movie was indeed a phenomenal theater going experience and I can't wait to watch it again....and again at home much like I have with Batman Begins.

The poster they used for the cover of the steel book in my opinion is the best one sheet that was released for the film, I cannot wait to grab one of these up.

BTW, i would agree with the people on here,.....WTF no cool shit with the blu-ray, i mean, if you get a blu-ray it already means you are paying more than you would for the regular DVD buyers, so just add some stuff, t...

Very cool looking, I really hope Nolan does a longer cut that kind of ties up some of the dangling plot threads in the flick. Rumour has it his original cut was almost forty minutes longer
