I knew that, at the very least, Batman fans would click on that headline. Swerve, chumps!
Fear not -- curled comic Will Ferrell isn't taking over the role of half-crispy DA Harvey Dent in the next Batman movie. He is, however, planning to star in a Sony comedy-drama titled TWO FACE. The script comes from writer Vince Gilligan, one of the (many) people involved in piecing together the (unfinished?) puzzle that was HANCOCK -- and like that movie, this one will probably also get a name change before it hits screens.
The story would find Ferrell playing "a racist who, after a prank gone awry, develops a split personality." It will also presumably involve him taking his shirt off, which seems to be a contractual requirement. Ferrell has apparently been circling the project for years, and now the plan is to get it rolling before his SHERLOCK HOLMES comedy with Sacha Baron Cohen. He'll next be seen in STEP BROTHERS and LAND OF THE LOST.
Extra Tidbit:
This list of Ferrell's Top Ten SNL skits is pretty much on the mark.

YOU GUYS SUCK
You guys sound like a bunch of children whining. No one cares if you like Will Ferrell or not. In fact, I think your bitching and moaning is quite the opposite of what everyone else does. If he wasn't doing something right, his movies wouldn't be doing so well. So zip it up and I'll see you at Step Brothers next week, YAY! |

I HATE HATE HATE HIM
I really fucking hate Will Farrell. I have never seen him in anything that I thought was funny or interesting. He's a male attention whore who also happens to be totally unfunny and completely lacking in any screen presence (except of course when he removes his shirt and/or pants and looks like fucking Sasquatch)... fuck, at least Jim Carrey was funny in a few films. |

He went from doing some really funny movies to doing the same character in every movie over and over again.
He is a funny guy, but you can only take so much of him. |

A grossly unoriginal concept.
A grossly mistitled movie.
And a grossly...well, a very gross star. |

ME, MYSELF & ANCHORMAN
Will Ferrell, huh? He's just going to do the same damn thing again? The one persona being a quiet man, the other one being loud and naked?
Jim Carrey did it once in a way nobody did before. 'Me, myself & Irene' wasn't that well written, but damn, Carrey made my jaw hanging doing those things. How he actually WAS two persons in one body ... and eventualy fighting eichother ... that wasn't just funny, that was simply amazing!
Not looking forward to the Ferrell-thing. |
