Released June 6th. Still can't find the features the DVD will have but we'll probably have to wait a while for an extended cut with more extras.

Damn good DVD then. It's just like UW's first release. I guess we might expect an Extended 2-Disc DVD by the end of the year? I hope so.

Yeah, I'm not going to get caught in the "double dip" trap with EVOLUTION like I did with the first film's DVD release in 2004. I learned my lesson.
This time, I'm going to ignore the intitial DVD release & pretend as if the sequel isn't even out on disc yet. Then ( & ONLY then ) when the unrated, extended director's cut comes out, I'll buy it.
The greedy fucks.
Pardon me for the outburst, but it just pisses me off that they have to be so disingenuous with the film's fans. They know that fans want the extended cut & they have the ability to release that version just as soon as they release the "regular" cut of the film. But instead, they've got to play games & try to stick it to us in the hope that we'll "give in" & wind up shelling out for BOTH copies.
Sure, they're in the business to make money, but I still feel that it's a shitty thing for them to do.
And, no, I don't buy that they need the extra time between the two releases. All one has to do is look at the plethora of other recent & forthcoming releases that are issuing THEIR "director's cuts" on the very same day as their standard versions. Like LAND OF THE DEAD, WOLF CREEK & THE HILLS HAVE EYES.

What's sad is that I'm going to buy both versions. Not because I'm SO desperate to see it (I already own a copy of the movie but all DVDrip -perfect quality, though- and extra-less. I just always like to be able to watch both of the movie's versions. With 1, I liked watching the unrated and the rated versions alike; depended on my mood. With Evolution though, it's a little different since it's so damned relentless.

It irritates me how they do the double dip thing. I got caught in the same trap with the first Underworld. At least with the special edition though it came with a free ticket for Evolutions....that made up for it a little bit.

I'll probably buy it. I actually enjoyed the second film more than I did the first.
