Hey troops, how's it hanging? Long time no see and all.
I've wanted to make a solid, effective statement on the subject of remakes or ages, but have never had the patience to do it. Finally, I've done it, and where better than the worlds greatest movie forum to debut it?
I've posted this in General Movie Talk too, but there are so many horror films in it I'm interested to see a horror perspective on it.
I've had the idea of doing this for ages, but it has taken me a hell of a long time to put together.
First of all, I have had to get a hold of the DVDs so I could capture the video. Then I had to find and capture clips from each film. Then I edited it al together in such a way as it fitted with the music. And finally, after a couple of months of all that, I've ended up with something I'm very proud of and hope gets passed all over the internet.
After all, if rubbish "boo" scare animations can be seen all over the place, why can't something with actual meaning?
Anyway, here are links to a hi-res (67mb) and lo-res (17mb) version of it. If you have the ability to do so, I'd highly recommend downloading the hi-res one because that's the way I'd prefer people to see it. Download it, play it through Windows Media Player, turn the sound up and make it full screen.
HI-RES VERSION (download) (http://rapidshare.de/files/18778224/remakes_hi.wmv.html) via Rapidshare (click "free" at the bottom right then wait for the timer to count down).
LO-RES VERSION (streaming) (http://media.putfile.com/Fix-You---A-Trubte-to-Remakes)
(By the way, it's not one of those "boo" scare things. This is something I've been working on for ages, with a serious message.)
Please take the time to download this and tell me what you think. I'm immensely proud of it but realise that there's always room for improvement. For example, one or two clips jerk ever so slightly and the version of the song I 'obtained' sounds a bit off at times.
Anyway, I never beg people for anything, but please download this, tell me what you think, and if you like it pass the link on to other messageboards you may use. Spread the remake message!
Thanks everyone. :)
(NB: There's a small mention of my website at the start. Though I realise people may see this as spamming, I don't want to upload another 67mb file just to take an address off the first 4 seconds. So if you don't want to see the link to my website, ignore the first 4 seconds of the video, so my spam can't infect you. ;) )
