That's right, Jack Nicholson and Martin Scorsese....holy shit. Think about it. Nicholson.....................being directed by Scorsese. It's too perfect. Jack Nicholson, and Martin Scorsese. Holy Shit. Just think about it.....it's fucking Scorsese and fucking Jack Nicholson, it's impossible for this film to be bad. It can have the worst story ever and it'll still haul ass because IT"S MOTHERFUCKING MARTIN SCORSESE AND MOTHERFUCKING JACK NICHOLSON.
Oh, and Leonard DiCaprio.

This flick sounds great. Not too much info on it so far, but it's one of my most anticipated.

I'm keeping my expectations in check, since I personally don't think Scorsese is up to the level he was some 15 years or so ago.

Oh I certainly disagree there. The Aviator was a masterwork, and Gangs of New York was pretty good. I think The Departed has lots of potential, good actors, and we know that it will be visually and directorially amazing. We'll just have to see how seriously Scorsese is going to take it.

Scorsese's one of my favorite directors so I'll definitely be there. But I'm not a fan of remaking recent foreign films. I wish he had chosen a different project to work on, especially with a cast like this.

As Scorsese is one of my all-time favorite directors and Nicholson one of my favorite actors, this is easily my most anticipated film of the coming year.
Plot synopsis ---SPOILERS---
"The Departed" is set in South Boston, where the state police force is waging war on organized crime. Young undercover cop Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio) is assigned to infiltrate the mob syndicate run by gangland chief Costello (Jack Nicholson). While Billy is quickly gaining Costello's confidence, Colin Sullivan (Matt Damon), a hardened young criminal who has infiltrated the police department as an informer for the syndicate, is rising to a position of power in the Special Investigation Unit. Each man becomes deeply consumed by his double life, gathering information about the plans and counter-plans of the operations he has penetrated. But when it becomes clear to both the gangsters and the police that there's a mole in their midst, Billy and Colin are suddenly in danger of being caught and exposed to the enemy – and each must race to uncover the identity of the other man in time to save himself.
