I haven't really been watching anime lately, but after finally watching more of Elfen Lied, I'm hooked again. I want to know what some good anime series are to check out. I'm interested in Gantz, Serial Experiments Lain, Full Metal Panic, Monster (I'm contemplating downloading the whole series, but it's 74 episodes and like ELEVEN GIGS), Trinity Blood, GunxSword, and the Hellsing OVA (I loved the regular series). Just recommend away. I love anything extremely violent (Elfen Lied really whet my appetite). And big bouncing boobies is always nice. Haha.

i liked Lain, its slow paced and has quite a complex story but was worth watching

i highly recommend Trinity Blood, i frickin loved it, amazing soundtrack, nice animation and a great story, its also pretty violent at times

I heard very good things about "MONSTER". About the Hellsing Ovas there's only one out in Japan, the second one will appear in august.
Gantz and Full Metal Panic are pretty good. Lain is kinda weird, but it's good too.

I've heard great things about Monster, too. New Line picked it up for a movie. I think it'll make a good movie judging by the subject matter. I may have to download it at one point or another (except that the whole series is 12 gigs).

If you use Bitcomet you can download it by parts.

You're interested in GREAT series. I didn't personally like Lain, I thought it was a wee bit too pretentious. It had great 'cinematography', though. GantZ is one of my favorite series ever (much better than the pretty good Elfen Lied, by the way). Full Metal Panic is hilarious and very good, make sure to try Fumoffu once you're done with that.

And if yuo haven't, you must go do the best anime series out there: Full Metal Alchemist.

Berserk

I know.:D

Full Metal is an awesome series as well, but im waiting till its all out to buy in a boxed set.

Till then ill tide myself over with the new COUNT OF MONTE CRITSO anime series that is blowing my socks off like no other.

..its set in the far future and The Count himself is a badass Count Dracula lookalike that is probably the most interesting character this side of Spike from Beebop and The Major from Ghost in the shell...and hes not even the main hero.

VERY SUPERB series with great characters, a VERY original art design, and an enthralling story that had me absolutely HOOKED after the very first episode.

My friend told me that it's amazing.

I picked up the first volume of Gantz today used for $10.99 at FYE. Holy shit, that's one of the craziest things I have EVER seen. "Take my green onion!" I knew I'd be in for a trip when the main character imagined all his female classmates (and teacher) naked and got a boner. Haha. I just wish there were more than 2 episodes on the disc. Lame. I also picked up the first volume of Please Teacher, and it's great. Doesn't have the extreme violence, but it's got the hot chicks part covered. Heh. They have the rest of the series there, too (all used), so I'm going to pick them up when I get paid on Thursday.

But if you think that's crazy, you have no idea what you're getting into with GantZ.

School Rumble is surprisingly addictive.. and has a lot more depth than I thought before I got hooked on it.

Fate Stay Night also kicks an unprecedented amount of ass..

Those are the two I'm following doggedly at the moment.

I'm looking for more new anime series to get lost in too though..

And Wolf's Rain was truly amazing.

..albeit exceedingly depressing.. hehe. (Well, not if you stop at the end of the tv series and don't watch the last OVA episodes)

The ending to Wolfs Rain isnt depressing in the least to me, but rather bitter-sweet.

Same with Bee-bop. I came away awed.

Samurai Champloo kicked ass for its up-beat ending however. I just felt good after that one.

Great shows indeed, specially School Rumble. The second season has been great so far, but the opening and ending songs are not as "catchy" like the first season.

But come on. The actual episodes ARE pretty sad. Everything leading up to the epilogue in the street is emotionally straining. At least it was so to me.
