This has got to be one of the saddest things ever to happen at a sporting event. The video is great though; the ump never saw it coming and it comes from off screen.

Thoughts?

Delmon Young has got to get his act together. He is the top prospect in the entire MLB and if he doesn't keep his anger in control, it will be a problem.

Mr. Young got 50 games and some community service for that little stunt. Deserved, in my opinion.

I do find it funny that a week or two after that incident, Bernie Williams tosses his helmet at the ump the other night when the Yankees were playing the Red Sox. He missed the ump, but barely.

Are you kidding me with this?

He struck out, was walking away and gently dropped the helmet over his shoulder which rolled or dropped near the umpires feet. The ump took this as an attack and ejected him. You cannot compare these two events with a straight face.

He didn't drop it. He flung it behind him - underhanded, not over his shoulder - while looking in the general direction.

And it's not so much laugh out loud funny, then it is ironic that it happened so soon after the bat flinging incident.

That seems to happen alot these days. Almost like copycat.

Not quite the same but half way through the soccer season in Europe. Wayne Rooney sarcasticaly clapped a referee after he booked him and got sent off for it. Couple of weeks later every fucker is doing it.

Although let's hope that it doesn't catch on with Baseball bats. Things could get quite painfull.

I laugh when i see this clip.

I just hear in my head the ref saying "Umpf."

And then I wet myself.

OK. The part that I laughed at was when the piture covered his mouth w/ his glove. I'm sure it was to stop a laugh.
