I just saw ROTLD:NOCROPOLIS and was very pleased on how this movie turned out!!!
I had my thoughts about this movie. I said to myself : ok, day of the dead 2 sucked ass!!! and now ROTLD:4 c'mon now this is going to have to suck balls!!! the series died a long time ago and now they want to make 4 & 5!!!
i wanted to get this cause i wanted to get back in the old zombie mood. lol so i bought this and i own all other 3 so one night i watched all 3.
Then came 4 i knew i was going to be disapointed. I wanted to get drunk so i can at least enjoy this movie but gave it a chace.
but WOW!!! what a great movie!!! i loved this movie its not as great and the first 2. but was a fun ride. it had a shit load of gore in that department but no T&A!!! whats up with that!!! but i hade a good time.
i heard this and 5 was shot back to back RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD 5: RAVE TO THE GRAVE!!! If 5 is the same as 4 all i have to say is bring it on!!!
RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD - 10/10
RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD II - 9/10
RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD 3 - 8/10
RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD: NECROPOLIS - 8/10

(Shakes head in dissapointment)
Hehe...just kidding. I didn't really care for this one. If this were anything but a ROTLD movie then I might have enjoyed it more, but I had a certain expectation when it comes to LIVING DEAD movies and the whole NEMESIS rip-offs just turned me totally off.
But whatever floats your boat.

I thought it was rather OK, but had very low expectations of it at first, but what was up with that karatekicking zombie??
Arenīt zombies supposed to be stiff??
Great fx and gore and some great tunes (Cold machines by Alice Cooper, I stand alone by Godsmack and some Powerman 5000 songs)

The series actually died out after the first one. The first Return of the Livng dead is a beauty in it's own way. The second well whoever made this gem fucked up in every possible way by putting a little kid as the lead character. The movie doens't even keep your attention on the zombies but just wanting to punch the little fuck in the damn chin. None of those characters where a bit amusing.

I used to think of "What If's?". Like, what if we got new sequels in the current times with current trends, with old school movies we all know of. Then ROTLD 4/5 came out and explained why they shouldn't happen too often (as did Leprechaun In The Hood, and even "better",Leprechaun Back 2 Tha Hood").
Return Of The Living Dead - More and more everyday continues to grow as one of my favorite movies. Its one of the top for me in general and in the horror/comedy mix its one of the best of all time. The theme by 45 Grave is also one of the most addicting,ass-kicking songs too.James Karen was simply fantastic in it,as was the late Mark Venturini. 9/10
ROTLD 2 - Its not as great as the first, but its still a DAMN fun movie to me. I've always been mildly confused why they re-casted Karen & Matthews as different characters, but whatever, nonetheless, all aside it was still a real fun treat for me personally. And no,this isn't a guilty pleasure. 7.5/10
ROTLD 3- Obviously, extremely different then the first two and anything BUT what you'd expect as a sequel to the first comedically churned films, and the same tone and formula that made the series so awesome in 1 & 2 were MIA. But guess what? Just like the previous, this is also one of my favorite horror flicks to watch, and as a stand-alone film is just incredible for me personally. Mindy Clarke is a goddess. 8.5/10
ROTLD 4 & 5- Both sucked terribly.End. I couldn't even finish watching the 5th.

This and with 5 are terrible films (though Rave to the Grave is better). I can sometimes find something in a film no matter how bad it might be that keeps me watching but I ended up skipping through sections of this, the acting is terrible, the script is just horrible with what the characters say and do. Some of the conveniences in the plot was too much for me to believe as well. The direction was horrible too.
It's a shame how most of the sequels turned out since ROTLD is one of the funniest films I've ever seen and is 90 minutes of pure entertainment. 3 was the only good sequel in this series and had some great gore.
Return Of The Living Dead - 9/10
Return Of The Living Dead Workprint - 9/10
Return Of The Living Dead II - 2/10
Return Of The Living Dead III - 8/10
Return Of The Living Dead IV - 2/10
Return Of The Living Dead V - 4/10

Yeah 4 & 5 where complete wastes. They have nothing going for them. The zombie action is beyond bad. To bad they brought down the "Return of the Living Dead name.

Say what?! Not once, in either of those sequels, did I see a sexy redhead tape a fucking ROCK to her HAND and beat people with it.

I caught one of those two (4 or 5, can't remember which) on Sci Fi one day and turned it off after 20 minutes.
I have owned Return of the Living Dead 3 for about five years and still haven't watched it. Because of this thread I will do it this week some time.
The original is still one of my favorites and while I don't remember the sequel all that well I remember having some fun with it when I watched it at a friend's birthday party about ten years ago.
Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Return of the Living Dead 4 was alright for a sci-fi channel movie, but Return of the Living Dead 5 was REEEAAALLL fucking stupid.

After renting this out on my vacation to Canada
I was actually offended that this film was even made
I know for a fact I wont even go near the fifth one because people here are saying its as bad as Necropolis
They should've ended it with the third

Great? Hmmmm. I watched the movie for about 20 minutes before turning it off. Then again that was on Sci-Fi. Maybe another chance is warranted.

I don't remember it that well but I do remember not thinking it was that bad. 5 on the other hand was pretty bad (despite what I said in my review on Associated Content).
