Ok, so here's what I got today...
John Carpenter's Cigarette burns--- $9.64
Constantine--- $6.99
Alice, Sweet Alice--- $0.99
I think the total was... $18.68
So, was it a good deal? And were the movies good choices?

No, Cig burns was new, but the other two were used. And Alice, sweet alice was never rented at the video store so they wanted to sell it.

Sounds like a good deal to me. I love used stores, I have tons in my area, not a damn thing wrong with used or vhs.
There are lots of OOP titles on VHS that have yet to see DVD treatment. I have this one store that you can get ten vhs for ten dollars and they will buy them back its cool. I get all my dvd and box sets used there, they check everything for quality, I have never been burned.
