Hey everybody,
According to DarkHorizons.com, Eddie Murphy has confirmed that h will return to the role of Detroit cop Axel Foley in another sequel to the "Beverly Hills Cop" movies. Murphy stated, "The script is looking good" and that is all the details there are at the moment. I always did love the originals and I could see him pull off another one as long as it has good writing and a good director. Click the link below for the story:

You mean Axel.
Eddie Murphy is now desperate. I don't think he can make this work, regardless of how good the script is.

if its more like BHC 1 and 2 and its R-rated for violence and eddie's cussing, ill b the first in line to see this shit. if it has eddie in a dinosaur costume like BHC 3 and is PG, i will burn down the theatre. if your gonna do a sequel, DO WHAT WORKED THE FIRST TIME!

If this is true then hopefully it will be better than Cop III.

As long as Taggart comes back to team up with Rosewood. They need Tony Scott back again too. That man can't fuck anything up.

Don't you think I realize what's going on here, miss? Who do you think I am, huh? Don't you think I know that if I was some hotshot from out of town that pulled inside here and you guys made a reservation mistake, I'd be the first one to get a room and I'd be upstairs relaxing right now. But I'm not some hotshot from out of town, I'm a small reporter from "Rolling Stone" magazine that's in town to do an exclusive interview with Michael Jackson that's gonna be picked up by every major magazine in the country. I was gonna call the article "Michael Jackson Is Sitting On Top of the World," but now I think I might as well just call it "Michael Jackson Can Sit On Top of the World Just As Long As He Doesn't Sit in the Beverly Palm Hotel 'Cause There's No Niggers Allowed in There!"

Classic! :D
Axel: Okay I guess I could do that. Could you tell Victor that Ramon - -the fella he met about a week ago? - -tell him that Ramon went to the clinic today, and I found out that I have, um, herpes simplex 10, and I think Victor should go check himself out with his physician to make sure everything is fine before things start falling off on the man.

I wonder if Paul Reiser will be back this time?
I'll keep an open mind on this one, but it just looks like another desperate attempt by Eddie Murphy to stay in movies. I agree with the consensus that he should return to the R-rated BHC themes, but I doubt he will. He's done too many family friendly flicks lately to ruin his new image.

I think that the old Eddie Murphy is gone. Any action film he's in nowadays will be PG or PG-13. People just need to accept that. I have.
He was great back in the day but its time for people expecting him to be in the same roles as he was earlier in his career to let go. This doesn't mean I don't like him any less, I mean, he is very, very funny in his films and I absolutely love his stand-up work.
That reminds me; Does anyone remember his bit about Bill Cosby chastising him about the profanity in his shows - Well it seems that Eddie is in Bill Cosby's shoes now.
I think that these recent roles in family comedies is his way of saying, "That's in my past. I've grown from that. I'm older and maturer and this is the way I want my career to go now."

I've got no problem with that, but if he's going to bring Axel Foley back, he should bring back the R-rated one - it's what made the franchise successful and what the character so cool and funny. If he's not going to do that, then he should leave it alone.

Eddie Murphey was the Chappelle of the 80's. It really saddens me that Hollywood (or Bill Cosby) bought him out.

I think Eddie Murphy was bigger in the 80s than Chapelle is now. Murphy had everything going - "Eddie Murphy Raw," Beverly Hills Cop and its sequel were huge for him. He just got into this family movie schpeal and hasn't gone back.

Honestly, that scene where Murphy and the guys go get that info from Sidney Bernstein's (Gilbert Godfried) computer makes me crack up all the time. That's when the series was in top form.
Bernstein into phone: "BITCH."
