Hey everybody,

With the coming release of "World Trade Center" in August nearly 5 years after the events of 9/11, the website for the film has been slightly activated but included a Flash featurette showing interviews with the real people as well as never before seen photos from the film that look very good. From the looks of things already, Oliver Stone may have done this film right but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Anyway, here is the link to the main website. Just click on the "Enter Site" link and don't hit the "Skip" button or you will miss the featurette.

And here are screen captures that I made from the featurette as well.

What do you all think?

I'm actually very impressed. The fact that the first material we see from this movie is a featurette documenting and showcasing the real heroes the movie depicts was a very smart move from the filmmakers. It shows that they are completetly and utterly serious and devoted to this, and that they will do anything to respect the families of those who died and of those who survived. I can't judge much on the film since the featurette shows only photos, but I must say that I am impressed at the implications of the filmmakers' intentions expressed in the featurette. I hope the movie itself will be good, and will show the same respect that the featurette shows.

I haven't seen United 93 yet (will probably get to it this weekend or sometime during next week) but I was always more interested in this movie than United 93 (even though I think they both will be great).

Oliver Stone has made his fair share of stinkers (Natural Born Killers) but at his best (JFK, Platoon, Born on the Fourth of July) he has few peers.
