I held the script for this movie yesterday and talked to the man that was delivering it from the studio. Since I was at work I didn't have much time to talk or flip through the script but what I did find out was that neither Julia Roberts or Catherine Zeta Jones will be returning. Parts for them were never even written. Also Al Pacino is in this one for sure. I haven't been keeping up very much with the status on this film so I'm not sure if everything I've mentioned is old new. BTW, does anybody know what the plot is going to be?
Thanks.
If I found more information worth posting I will surely get around to adding it sometime.

Kickass, you actually held the script. That's cool. No tears of sorrow on my face when I see that Julia Roberts isn't in it. But there are a few tears of joy seeing that Al Pacino is in it - though I knew that already. Thanks for the update.

With all due respect to Ellen Barkin, I fear that without Roberts and Zeta-Jones the film will lack that extra punch of a strong leading female role. Barkin isn't exactly a household name and I myself haven't really seen nearly enough of her work for her to have made an impression on me in terms of screen presence. If there's one thing you have to give Roberts and Zeta-Jones, they HAVE screen presence. Without them... it'll just be the guys. And that seems like a pity to me.

Not if Angelina is cast in the movie, she'll kick Julia and Catherine's beautiful behinds.

Well, one of the (many) problems I had with Ocean's 12 was the excessive presence of Julia Roberts AND Catherine Zeta Jones and their sorry storylines. The first one was good because Roberts' part in the story wasn't revealed until halfway through the movie - and it was ONLY Roberts.
The movie is called Ocean's 13 - it should be mostly about the guys.

The first one was amazing top notch popcorn entertainment.
The second wasn't all that great, and lacked in many areas. It felt like they just did it so they can all work together, and make some more money. Plus, the fact that Julia Roberts was really pregnant, and they had to write that into the storyline made it feel stupid pushed. The movie was okay, but no where near what it could have been.
Now that they're doing an Ocean's 13, I hope they really concentrate on the characters and make it fun again. They have another chance to redeem themselves in my book, and yes Al Pacino involved is great, but I still don't think it'll ever be better or just as good as the original.

Agreed with darkface. The first one was great entertainment but the second one was lacking that charm and spark that the first one had. And wtf was up with Bernie Mac's character in O12? he's f'n missing throughout the whole movie (jailed) it seemd that the writer just slapped some scenes for him just for the sake of 'keeping them all in'
Now that my man Pacino is on the list, I can't wait to see what's that going to be like, I just wanna see good ol' cursin' steaming mad scenes from him. I hope the whole deal that they're shooting the whole movie INSIDE a studio ala "King Kong", doesn't make this movie look fake.

Well, it wasn't just Bernie Mac - it was all of them except for Pitt and Clooney. It seemed really obvious to me that everyone had conflicting schedules and couldn't be on set at the same time - like in the first one. And instead of focusing on the crime, the second one focused on Pitt and Jones' love story and Julia Roberts being Julia Roberts.

yea, that really bugged me. It prolly shouldn't have, but it took the fun out of it and just made it silly.
