Is 'Soul Man' a good movie?

Cuz there's a song by Botch called C. Thomas Howell as 'The Soul Man' and it made me curious.

It's about as good as "White Chicks", if you've seen that.

And in 'good' I mean 'godawful'.

It might have been funny when it came out but I watched it a year or so ago and it was awful. It might be the real reason for the LA riots, if you ask me.

I loved Soul Man when I was a kid, but it definitely does NOT hold up over time.
