Sure, this news story is awful, but I still think we Bush made the right decision to invade Iraq so Saddam wouldn't think we we're weak [especially by making up stories about his weapon's program and letting that guy who killed 3000 Americans off the hook]. Otherwise he and his Al-Qaeda buddies [who hated him] would've sucessfully invaded and taken over America [while keeping NATO distracted with a big shiny object].

It's a good thing that Bush entered Iraq. Because some really, really, really, awful stuff would be going on there if Saddam were still in power...I mean...bad stuff, dude...You don't even want to know.
Argh.

Let's just bust it up like Yugoslavia. Obviously, everybody needs a respective "time out."

Is anybody genuinely surprised by this? I still can't believe Bush went into Iraq with support from even a lot of Democrats--I could smell the bullshit al-Qaeda connections from a mile away and most of my predictions have come true about the occupation (all that needs to happen now is us withdrawing and the country going into chaos for a while, with eventually an emerging Islamic theocracy). Do I have incredible foresight, or is most of America too preoccupied by short-term things like rising gas prices to find the shit behind things like this so they just give their stamp of approval?

It sounds like a very inflammatory article. I think that there are bad things happening there and there are good things happening there. In our own country we had many atrocities committed when the country went through its internal strife. Didn't our people get lynched and tortured? And just the other day there was a man in town who had swasticas painted onto his house in a neighborhood about 7 miles from mine. And don't drug dealers kill people who rat on them to the police?
Obviously in Iraq there are factions who are jockeying for power and there are some bad people who will try to intimidate others. Again, don't we have the mafia here and aren't they still trying to find Jimmy Hoffa's body?
We live in a world where violence is a part of life. If Iraq was in better control before we went in it just meant that the torture and killing were controlled because they weere only done by Hussien and those who followed him and the people who were killed had no hope at all. I'm hopeful taht the Iraqis will be able to form a government where bad people can be brought to justice.

It'll be a little hard to do that when one group is getting wiped out by another group because of centuries-old ethnic strife.

It will be hard to do that when the countries that invaded and influenced their society have a hard time themselves in bringing their "bad people" to justice.
