Laurel Canyon is definitely worth your time.

I still haven't seen a couple of his key performances (The Machinist and The New World), so I won't make a list.

However, I loved him as Patrick Bateman, as Wade Junior in Shaft (especially his hilarious collaboration with Jeffrey Wright's Peoples Hernandez) and he is the DEFINITIVE Batman, effectively washing all that Burton/Schumacher/Kilmer/Billy Blazejowski tripe away into the sewer, where it belongs.

Bale's performance in Empire of the Sun is one of, if not the single greatest child performance I've ever seen. It's quite incredible.

Otherwise, he's alright in Reign of Fire and Shaft.

He's ok in The New World. But he's not in it much.

He's ok in Captain Corelli's Mandolin.

But I loathed American Psycho and his performance in it.


Haven't seen Equilibrium or The Machinist but I want to. Especially The Machinist.

The only ones that even come close are Victoire Thivosol in Ponette, Patty Duke in The Miracle Worker, and Mary Badham in To Kill a Mockingbird.

Jim Graham is a spoiled brat of a kid that you just absolutely love.

Yup, this is true. The fact that he didn't even get a fuckin' Oscar/Globe nomination blows my mind.

Most people will rightfully say American Psycho, but I gotta give it to him for The Machinist.

Although the fact that he looks eerily like me in the film (minus the goatee), and thus kicked my bony ass into trying to gain some damn weight might've helped.

Now that I've seen The Machinist I can safely say that is Bale's best performance to date.
