Is Evolution just as good as Underworld? Is Evolution better than Underworld? Is Evolution worse than Underworld? In your responce please include the reason's as to why it's this way or that. Thank-you.

There are a couple of reviews (I think only zombievictim's, actually) in the Review's board.

But, as a huge UW fan, here are my two cents.

They are two equally good movies, I think. The flaws of one aren't present in the other. Underworld: Evolution is a much more relentless, faster story with many, many plot twists and much more, better action. Evolution's new characters aren't as well-developed as the ones in Underworld were (although they're definitely cooler looking). The acting in the sequel is a step up because because the worse player from the first isn't bad in his screentime here. The plot in Evolution is definitely less convoluted/confusing (though I never had trouble with the plot in the first) than the plot of the first, so you might like that. There's a very cheesy moment at the end of Evolution which turned off a lot of people. Good news is that not only the action has been kicked up a notch but also the violence and sexuality. Get ready for heavy, wet gore and a steamy sex scene. I also thought Kate looked much hotter here than she did before (which is just ka-POW!).

I hope that's good enough. For some reason I haven't written a complete review of Evolution (though it is one of my favorite movies) but yeah, in a nut shell, they're equally good (though I might enjoy watching Evolution more because it's much, much faster and easier to watch).

How about how each film "looks"? Do they have the same kind of cinematography going on? In terms of lighting is Evolution just as dark as Underworld? Are the same colors that were dominant in Underworld (different kinds of blues, black, silver, and white), also dominant in Evolution? Is there "grittyness" in Evolution, like there was here and there in Underworld?

I just checked out Zombievictim's thread in the review forum. Based on what I read there, I'd say I'll get Evolution when it comes out on June 6th. And when the 2-Disc Unrated Extended Cut comes out I'll just take the bare bones edition to a store I know that buys used DVDs and sell it to them and keep the 2-Disc Unrated Extended Cut version. "No worries."

Its a perfect continuation of the first movie that picks up right where part 1 left off.

A person could watch part 1 and 2 back to back as one long experience similar to Halloween 1 and 2.

I can't fucking wait to rent this next Tuesday (if I hadn't bought two new movies today, I would buy it). I unfortunately missed it in the theaters (even though I was really excited). I'm going to watch Underworld 1 in preparation of part 2. Around the time the first flick came out I also heard something about a prequel to the first that dealt with the beginnings of the war between the vamps and lycans. Is this going to happen at some point? Oh, and Nightcrawler, your avatar rocks. Raiden looks so badass in MGS4.

But yeah, he looks badass in MGS4, even moreso than he did in MGS2 (I'm that one guy who loved Raiden . . . maybe a bit more than Snake).

Being a hater of the first film, I ended up actually enjoying the second one a lot. I think it was because it was at a faster face than the orginial. Everything just seemed to 'click' better here, though I thought the characters from the first were more developed.

Underworld Evolution in my opinion, was everything the first one should have been, and wished it could've been. I thought the first was a big crock of shitpile. And this definetly picked the flattened ball up and breathed some air into it.
