X2 is probably the one that best develops it's characters and story and that is probably because it is significantly longer than the other two. X2 is 2 hours and 13 minutes where as the other two are only 1 hour and 44 minutes.
So no surprise that X2 is the best.

X2.
Its like Godfather 2, Aliens, T2, ect, ect, as far as sequels go.
Takes all the good things about the first movie, gets rid of the rest, and expands.
My stance on X3 is that while overjoyed that it turned out FAR better then it should have, and is about tied with the first, it SHOULD HAVE been the best of the 3 movies given what came before and the current material they had to pull from the comics.:)

X2, easy. Good plot, great character development, good balance between all the characters, giving them all good screen time, great effects, great thrills, great action, great directing. It's all just so darn good. X2 is the perfect comic book movie.

X2. The first one was really good, the second one was great and the third was a huge dissapointment!

X2 is a masterful work of comic book action art.

X2 was great on all counts, but I had fairly high expectations for X3 and they were pretty much all met. I feel like the character development and balance between characters was about as good as your going to get, and the big thing for me is that this one was the most epic, which is what it should be.

The Last Stand. I think Singer butchered this franchise from the start, TLS is the only enjoyeable one of the lot.

Oh god, I'm the only person that has gone with X-Men.
I thought The Last Stand was pretty lousy..

The Last Stand might be the worst movie this year, X2 easily.

I'm prob gonna get some hate mail for this but I gotta say X3. The problem most people had with the movie, I loved.....too many charaters. I had a great time watching that movie and just listing off the more or less "low-class mutants", to the average movie watcher the no-named mutants. But for me I could almost name every single mutant that was onscreen....sure that might make me a fucking nerd but so what, it's something I loved as a child and i loved seeing it now on the big screen.

The problem isn't that X3 has too many characters. The problem is that it didn't manage to juggle the characters equally, and failed to develop most of them. As opposed to X2, which also had lots of characters but which managed to develop each and every one of them equally.

I went with X3 because its a no-holds-barred action fest. This opinion could change.

It should have been epic but it wasn't really that epic. What I mean is, and I've said this a lot but it's the best way I can describe it, it felt like a cliff notes version of a really big epic movie.
One thing that I hadn't thought of that my mom, of all people, pointed out was how lousy the war was. This was suppose to be a really big war between mutants and man and yet it was just a battle, not a really big war.
I still enjoyed X-Men: The Last Stand, but the more I think about it the more disappointed I am with the movie. It's one of the biggest missed opportunities I've ever seen.
