2. Joe Buck in Midnight Cowboy
3. Ed Gentry in Deliverance
4. Peter Miller in The Odessa File
5. Jim Phelps in Mission: Impossible

Not consistent actor who picks good projects. It seems like he takes whatever is available, because most of the movies he has been in aren't very good movies. But I respect the few great performances he has done. I have avoided most of his movies, but the only one left I have to see with him in it is COMING HOME.

The Champ was his signature (and best) role by far. Even an annoying Ricky Schroeder didn't taint JV's performance.
