Unfortunatly, I watched it. It was very gory, but also boring. I barly sat through the film. Horrible. If it wasn't for the gore, this movie would be the dumbest movie ever, but there WAs gore, so a 3/10 is given to this movie.

(Like MOST Australian movies Undead is bad... REAL bad)

WTF!!!!

Just to name a few:

Saw
Wolf Creek
Mad Max

and Undead is a pretty cool. It went off in a different direction towards the end but it was certainly entertaining enough.

But in comparison to the amount of bad Australian movies is what I meant. I have nothing against Saw or the Mad Max Trilogy (Wolf Creek sucked) but think about movies like Bad Eggs, A Mans Gotta Do, Mr. Accident, Reckless Kelly, Takeaway, Crackerjack and The Nugget to name a few. The Australian Film Institute really has to pick up its game. I can only think off hand of three other decent Australian movies and they are Galipoli, Two Hands and Young Einstein. Proud to be Australian... NOT proud of MOST Australian movies.

I'm sure they think the same of our movies lately.

Different directions towards the end. Thats an understatement. Watch a potentially interesting film crash and burn in a million incomprehensible pieces.

It wasn't that bad.

I'd rather watch something original than all the regurgitated shite coming out of Hollywood now.

Just cause its original doesnt mean its good.

I really enjoyed Undead (3.5/5), I thought that it was a fun mix of zombie and 50's alien invasion films.

Although i thought Undead was fun, it definatly had its moments which seemed to stretch and suck (although its beens ome time since i saw it). But i do agree with DeaditeDerek, most aussie movies that the aussie public end up seing a letdowns, which i have my theories for but thats another story. The proposition i thought was another decent aussie movie, and i dont think aussie movies are as bad as what they seem to get pushed into, but thats not saying their great either. There needs ot be a better connection witht he cult indie filmamkers of Australia to help this out, because at the moment it seems the AFC are only going a safe route...Saw got knocked back here but obviously it wasnt an awful movie for eg.

I think Undead is a great film , as a zom film or as an alien invasion film . For the budget they had , the effects are terrific , i love the whole look and mood of the film and the two leads are highly effective . These guys really crafted something special with Undead , a true independent , the likes of which we need more of , can't wait to see what the Spierigs do next . The ending left me wanting more , it hinted at a sequel that i wish would come to fruition . Great makeup fx , great visual effects , an intriguing story , excellent cinematography , this film has it all , for the low budget independent film lover . In light of some other recent zom films to come out , this is one of the best of the bunch for sure .

This movie was a piece of shit. I'm glad I bought in China for .50 cents. The gore was fake looking, the action scenes were ridiculous ("let's just throw these pistols in the air just to turn around and catch and shoot! just cuz it looks kewl!"). Skip it and watch Shaun of the Dead. A three barrelled shotgun? Lame.

I thought it was hilairious. You can't take this movie seriously though (like most of you are doing) watch it with some friends and some beer and just have fun watching it....it's a good time

I don't get the hate for this film , there's tons of junk out there on the horror front , studio produced and independent , then when we get an excellent one , and it somehow sucks because it may not have fit into someone's idea of what a real zom film is supposed to be like , sure it's what some call genre bending , it mixes genres and twists them a bit , for me that's one of it's merits , it takes you to places you never expect .

Undead is a masterful film , and this is the Spierig's first feature , i was and am impressed with what they created . Maybe some aspects of the film seemed amateurish , but again , it's their first film , not many people can produce such a strong effort their first time around with regards to feature length films , these guys did . I highly recommend it to horror fans who aren't uptight about genre films following particular , regimented " rules " . For the most part , the film is way more polished than it's budget would suggest , especially considering it was made outside a major studio .

I don't think the problem is that it breaks some conventions of the genre.

The problem is that the film has awful writing, acting and directing. Music is painful, too. And it's really, really boring.

Cinematography and effects are nice for such a low budget. But the funny thing is that they didn't put any effort at all to things that DON'T cost a lot of money. Like script. And then spend a huge amount of time to try to make their film look like a Hollywood movie. But if I want to see a hollywood movie, I'll watch one.

But the worst thing is that Undead is just boooooooring as hell. Characters are extremely dislikeable and unappealing. Story and dialogue are utter crap. And it goes on forever, with nothing interesting happening. When there is some action and gore on the screen, it livens up a bit, but that's only maybe 15% of the entire film.

Undead has nothing going for it, except for the novelty factor - They made a very cheap film and managed to make it look like a 2 million dollar film. Big deal.

I'll give the filmmakers props for working hard and trying to fulfill their dreams with very little resources. But the end result simply wasn't any good.

I didn't care for this movie much at all. The movie tries to add alot of humor to the premise... too much humor. So much humor to the point that it rates more as a comedy than a horror movie. What's worse is that it isn't funny at all. I really wanted to like this movie but I couldn't.

Undead was shit. I was so excited about it. And then was let down when I actually saw it. If it didn't have a bunch of Alien stuff in it MIGHT have been good. But it was just silly and very unenjoyable. A waste of money.
