I'm not sure whether this has been raised previously but one thing that facinates me in horror films is the music used. I'm not talking about the score, more songs used in the films. To kick things off and I hate to go back to a film that probably has more threads than any on here Haute Tension was the use of Muse's Newborn. Personally I thought this was a brilliant song that captured the mood, plus I'm a huge Muse fans. I'm interested to get feedback about other songs that schmoes think fit the scene.

Willows song (Sirenīs song) which was made famous in Wickerman and later on in Hostel...
It is a great song and a littlebit earie whn you know whatīs to come later on in these movies.

I also loved how they made Type O Negatives version of Summer Breeze melt in with John Debneys score in I know what you did last summer (Yeah sue me...I liked it :)

Grace Jones song Seduction Surrender during her stripteasescene in Vamp is also fabolous (and so is the entire score)

Living Dead Girl in Bride Of Chucky does a fantastic job of introducing Tiffany. Its a damn catchy tune, and one that really embodies her overall character.

The climax music in SAW. It worked alot better in the second movie though.

"Don't Fear the Reaper" is used in way too many movies. Good song though.

I have several favorites. Here's a few I can think of off the top of my head:

"Don't Be Afraid of Your Dreams" by Go West (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4)

"Mouth" (Remix) by Bush (An American Werewolf in Paris)

"I Have the Touch" by Heather Nova (The Craft)

"Haunted" by Poe (Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2)

"Hold Your Fire" by Sally Mattison (Slumber Party Massacre 3)

"Nightmare" by Tuesday Knight (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4)

"Better Than Sex" by TwoMarlowe (Bleed)

"Man Talk" by Wall of Voodoo (Cutting Class)

"Nearer to Morning" by Wall of Voodoo (Cutting Class)

Cry Little Sister...not stranger ;)

But I agree...the Lost Boys soundtrack is ridiculously perfect.Espicially the Saxophone Song...I STILL BELIEVE.

The Devils Rejects had a perfect soundtrack too.

I love the song lost in the shadows with its drumbeating
