Denise Richards has a chance at winning an oscar? I thought you needed at least some talent for winning an oscar these days...

The day Stephen Baldwin wins an Oscar is the day that I donate my sexual organs to the nearest medical research facility. The day Anthony Michael Hall wins is the day I perform the surgery myself...
Add Pauly Shore to the list. Then Chris Klein.

I'm also sorry my friend.....but she actually WON an Oscar for her performance in "Ghost".
And just a few more bad news:
Meg Tilly was close in 1986. She was nominated for "Agnes of God". She won the Golden Globe, but miss the Oscar. Believe it or not....her acting was great in that film.
Sly Stallone was nominated for 1976 "Rocky". (Even when I've never seen so much Razzies in a single person in my life).
John Travolta has been nominated twice: Saturday Night Fever and Pulp fiction. He also won a Golden Globe for "Get Shorty". Is just that the Academy didn't like him (and after watching Battlefield Earth I understand why! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif ).
And please add to the list:
Steve Martin and Leslie Nielsen.

I would say that Steve Martin actually would have an outside shot if he picked the right role. He's actually a very good dramatic actor. Did anybody see a little movie called A Simple Twist of Fate with Gabriel Byrne & SM. Excellent small movie that I've never heard anybody mention.

Jim Carrey deserves an Oscar. He really does. His performances recently have been excellent.

I don't know if he deserves one yet, but if he continues on the path he has set out on, he might in the future. The Truman Show was GREAT, and The Majestic was very good. And a stupid comedic actor has done it before. Just look at Tom Hanks in Bosom Buddies.
P.S. You think Peter Scolari wants to commit suicide yet?

If you're including Directors on this list. I think that Michael Bay would definately have a place on it.

i think those people i mentioned can win or get nominated atleast for an Oscar (even though some have been nominated before)
Adam Sandler is in the upcoming Punch-Drunk Love. and Jennifer Aniston is in The Good Girl. Both movies, if they turn out well, look like they could get some noms.

These kinds of lists are impossible to make. If I was asked this question a few years ago, I would have certainly included Will Smith and Julia Roberts. The fact that both of them have been nominated and one of them has won, shows that you really never know.

I agree with you on the majority of 'em...I doubt ANY of the buggers will be clutching an Academy Award at some point in the NEAR future!
Saying that...I do think Jim Carrey could possibly have an Oscar worthy performance in him! He's a bit of a tricky one is Jim...Hmmmm...

I totally agree with almost all of your picks, there are a few of course I think have a possibility. I mean, if you had asked me five years ago if Hillary Swank, the co-star of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and T.V.'s "Beverly Hills 90210" would win an Oscar, I would have laughed until I passed out. You just never know these days!

"Adam Sandler is in the upcoming Punch-Drunk Love. and Jennifer Aniston is in The Good Girl. Both movies, if they turn out well, look like they could get some noms"
i totally agree! as i am a BIG P.T. Anderson fann, loved boogie nights and magnolia, i will definitely check out the upcoming Punch-Drunk Love. it seems so intriguing and stuff and i definitely cant wait to see adam sandlers performance. i do believe he can do it. COME ON PEOPLE YOU GOTTA HAVE FAITH!
as for aniston, boy she looks great in the good girl. i am going to check it out tomorrow and i will let yall know how it was and how she was. she can be oscar material if she wanted too...
i dun think denise richards will ever win one, neither will eliza dusku, maybe rachel leigh cook, not sarah michelle gellar... you know the actors and actresses that are destined to play characters in the stupid teenage comedys slash dramas... maybe gellar has a chance i dunno, it juss doesnt seem likely... :T
has anyone seen storytelling?

About 11)Lisa Kudrow:
She is the only FRIEND who has an Emmy (unless I'm mistaken and someone else has one).
And
She got raves for her performance in THE OPPOSITE OF SEX, not to mention the New York Film Critics Circle Award.
She's also won a SCREEN ACTORS GUILD award for Best Actress in a Comedy series.
So she's not COMPLETELY hopeless. I think with the right material, an Oscar is within her reach. I'm not saying that she will get one, but she has proven skill despite the fact that she often typecasts herself.
2) Bruce Willis
Also, I'm probably alone on this but I always thought that Willis deserved an Oscar nod for his performance in PULP FICTION.
And got to love him in the DIE HARD trilogy.
Further, he has two Emmys and a Golden Globe.
That said, again, with the right material you never know.

Bruce Campbell Im afraid will never win Oscar which is very sad. Also Ewan McGregor may get a nomination one time but I seriously doubt they'll give it to hime because he is young and good.

No problem http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif Glad I saved one person from sitting through that crap. I am a fan of Solondz' movies too, especially "Happiness".
