Being the huge horror and music fan that i am, i've realized that many of the songs in my catalogue have horror references or are about the movies themselves. I'm pretty interested to see ones i haven't heard of, but here is a list of the few i have:
I was a teenage werewolf-The Cramps
Chainsaw Massacre-The Koffin Kats
Countless songs by the Misfits but...The Haunting, Return of the Fly, Night of the living dead, pumpkin head etc.
Driller Killer-Nekromantix
Hellbound-Nekromantix
Angela Baker and my obsession with fire-Senses Fail (not really about the movie, but cool reference)
Santa Carla Twilight-Tiger Army (same as above)
Nightmare on My Street-Will Smith (hilarious)
So lets see what everyone has to offer!

Bands like Mortician and Necrophagia deal almost exclusively with horror movie stuff in their songs.

This is just painful to read:
Will Smith - Nightmare on my Street lyrics
Now I have a story that I'd like to tell
About this guy you all know he had me scared as hell
He comes to me at night after I crawl into bed
He's burnt up like a weenie and his name is Fred
He wears the same hat and sweater every single day
And even if it's hot outside he wears it anyway
He's home when I'm awake but he shows up when I sleep
I can't believe that there's a nightmare on my street
It was a Saturday evening if I remember it right
And we had just gotten back off tour last night
So the gang and I thought that it would be groovy
If we summoned up the posse and done rushed the movie
I got Angie Jeff got Tina
Ready Rock got some girl I'd never seen in my life
That was all right because the lady was chill
Then we dipped to the theater set to ill buggin cold havin a ball
Somethin about Elm st. was the movie we saw
The way it started was decent you know nuthin real fancy
About this homeboy named fred and this girl named nancy
But word when it was over I said yo that was def
And everything seemed all right when we left
But when I got home and laid down to sleep
That began the nightmare, but on my street
It was burning in my room like an oven
My bed soaked with sweat And man I was bugging
I checked the clock and it stopped at 12:30
It had melted it was so darn hot And I was thirsty
I wanted something cool to quench my thirst
I thought to myself yo this heaters the worst
But when I got downstairs I noticed something was wrong
I was home all alone but the tv was on
I thought nothin off it as I grabbed the remote
I pushed the power button and then I almost choked
When I heard this awful voice coming from behind It said, "You got my favorite letter but now you must die
Man, I ain't even wait to see who it was Broke inside my drawers and screamed, "So long, cuz"
Got halfway up the block I calmed down and stopped screaming Then thought, "Oh, I get it, I must be dreaming"
I strolled back home with a grin on my grill I think that since this is a dream I might as well get ill
I walked in the house, the Big Bad Fresh Prince
But Freddy killed all that noise real quick
he grabbed me by my neck and said "Here's what we'll do We gotta lotta work here, me and you The souls of your friends you and I will claim You've got the body and I've got the brain"
I said, "Yo Fred I think you got me all wrong I ain't partners with nobody with nails that long
Look, I'll be honest man, this team won't work The girls won't be on you, Fred, your face is all burnt"
Fred got mad and his head started steaming
But I thought what the hell im only dreamin
I said please leave Fred so I can get some sleep
But give me a call maybe we'll hang out next week
I patted him on the shoulder, said "thanks for stopping by"
then I opened up the door and said "take care guy"
he got mad, drew back his arm, and slashed my shirt
I laughed at first, then thought, "hold up, that hurt" It wasn't a dream, man, this guy was for real
I said, "Freddy, uh, pal, there's been an awful mistake here"
No further words and then I darted upstairs
Crashed through my door then jumped on my bed
Pulled the covers up over my head And said, "Oh please do something with Fred"
He jumped on my bed, went through the covers with his claws
Tried to get me, but my alarm went off And then silence
It was a whole new day I thought, "Huh, I wasn't scared of him anyway"
Until I noticed those rips in my sheets
And that was proof that there had been a nightmare on my street
FP: Oh man, I gotta call Jeff, I gotta call Jeff Come on, come on Come on Jeff, answer Come on, man
JJ: Hello?
FP: Jeff, this is Prince, man Jeff, wake up, Jeff, wake up
JJ: What do you want?
FP: Jeff, wake up, man, listen to me, Jeff
JJ: It's three o'clock in the morning, what do you want?
FP: Jeff, Jeff, would you listen to me? Listen, whatever you do, don't fall asleep
JJ: Man
FP: Jeff, listen to me, don't go to sleep, Jeff
JJ: look, I'll talk to you tomorrow, I'm gong to bed Ahhhhhh! Ahhhhhh! (Ha ha ha ha ha haaaa)
FP: Jeff! Jeff! Jeff! Jeff! Answer me, Jeff! I'm your D.J. now, Princey! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaaa

How about Maniac by Michael Sembello from Flashdance.
It was originally written for the movie Maniac.
Instead of "She's a maniac, maniac on the floor". It was "There's a maniac, maniac at your door".

Just remembered British punk band Send More Paramedics - named after the line from Return Of The Living Dead. They're pretty standard punk but they dress up like zombies and write songs about being a zombie.

Man Behind the Mask is a fuckin great song! Love that goddamn track.
But Mortician seems to have a thousand horror songs. "Chainsaw Dismemberment" even begins with TCM's speech from the opening. There was also one about When a Stranger Calls.
What was that band who played "Jesus Wept"? Might also be Mortician but I forgot.
Also, "The Stand" by "The Alarm" is based on King's book/movie.

Iced Earth's album Horror Show is dedicated to horror figures whether they're from a movie or myth.
Track List
1. Wolf (About werewolves)
2. Damien (The son of Satan, appears in the Omen movies)
3. Jack (About Jack The Ripper)
4. Ghost Of Freedom (Not quite sure about this one, but I'm quite sure it's about somebody who dies in a war and comes back as a ghost)
5. Im-Ho-Tep (Pharaoh's Curse) (About mummies)
6. Jekyll & Hyde (About the man Dr. Jekyll and his evil other half Hyde)
7. Dragons Child (based on 'The Creature from the Black Lagoon')
8. Transylvania (Instrumental)
9. Frankenstein (The story of the artificial man created from various body parts and brought to life by the insane scientist Dr. Henry Frankenstein)
10. Dracula (About one of the classic historical figures, the blood sucking Dracula)
11. The Phantom Opera Ghost (About the play 'Phantom Of the Opera')
I own this and it's a fantastic album, for fans of power/thrash metal :D

NIGHTMARE ON MY STREET by JAZZY JEFF AND THE FRESH PRINCE is an excellent piss take. It's funny as fuck and the lyrics are actually quite descriptive in a highly amusing way.
I used to watch the end credits of FRIDAY THE 13th PART 6 over and over again just to hear HE'S BACK (THE MAN BEHIND THE MASK). I thought it was the best song ever!!! When I was a bit older I tried to get hold of it on cd but couldn't find it on any ALICE COOPER album. Then one day I was searching through the sale section in my local and found CONSTRICTER. Is it true this is the only ALICE COOPER album with the songs from PART 6? :D

How about Bela Lugosi Is Dead from the goth band Bauhaus? Here is some info from Wikipedia:
The title references horror film star Bela Lugosi (1882-1956), who did much to establish the modern vampire image as the title character in the 1931 film Dracula. Lugosi was, in fact, buried in his Dracula cape - an event depicted in the film Ed Wood (though reported inaccurately).
The song was featured in the 1983 Tony Scott cult vampire film The Hunger, where it played during the opening credits and introduction. A 7" promotional record featuring an edited version of the song was released to theaters playing the movie.
Lyrical content
The song's lyrics describe Bela Lugosi's funeral in terms that suggest an actual vampire's death:
The bats have left the bell tower
The victims have been bled
Red velvet lines the black box
Bela Lugosi's dead
The song seems to deliberately blur the line between Lugosi and his most famous creation:
Alone in a darkened room
The Count
The song ends with Peter Murphy repeating "Bela's undead" - evoking both the supernatural creature Lugosi played and the immortality of the filmic archetype that he created.
This song is very slow and brooding and nearly reaches ten minutes in length so it isn't a song that I really like listening to over and over again but I still think it's pretty cool. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Rob Zombie has quite a few:
Living Dead Girl - Inspired by the 1982 french film of the same name, The Last House on the Left, Lady Frankenestien and Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine.
Dragula - The song is based on Herman Munster's racing car "Dragula" featured in the sitcom The Munsters.
Never Gonna Stop - The song is based on Stanley Kubrick's classic 1971 film, A Clockwork Orange.
Feel So Numb - Based on Horror rises from the Tomb.
House of a 1000 Corpses - This song was essentially the theme for the movie he made of the same name.
American Witch - Based on The Crucible (the play, most likly.)
The Devil's Rejects - Based on his film of the same name.
The Lords of Salem - Same as American Witch
From his early years in White Zombie he had quite a few of these kinds of songs as well:
Welcome To Planet Mother Fucker - Based on Dawn of the Dead and Faster, Pussycat! Kill Kill!
Thunderkiss 65 - Also based on Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!
BlacK Sunshine - Based on To the Devil a Daughter.
