I saw this movie this afternoon. It is a great movie. It starts out a little boring but gets better as the movie goes on.
What did you guys think?

"Ice Age"- A-
**#9 on Brian's Must-See list of 2002**
What happens when you put a mammoth (voiced by Ray Romano), a sabertooth tiger (Denis Leary), a sloth (John Leguizamo, in his least-grating performance since 1996's "Romeo + Juliet"), and a human baby together during the Ice Age? Quite a wacky comedy, that's what. The plot is as simple as that description for this CG-animated flick from Blue Sky Studios and Fox. It has sly fun with historical pop culture like Stonehenge, the Doh-Doh, "The X-Files," and- of course- evolution, and it's loaded with enough jokes for adults to dig this flick as much as kids. It's not as clever as a "Monsters Inc." or "Shrek," but it's a lot of fun, especially in the form of Scrat, a squirrel-rat hybrid that has many trials and tribulations with a beloved acorn. A whole lot of funny- with just a bit of feeling- to make this a worthwhile flick; plus, a terrific David Newman score to boot.

Overall, Ice Age is a very funny movie, perfect for kids and adults, teens, too! John Leguizamo's characters was awesome. See this movie, it's worth your time!

can we see more then one movie a week? http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif I wouldn't bring a kid to Resident Evil over Ice Age. I think he would rather see a cartoon.

LOL. Good one psudoazn.
I saw both of them today (Resident Evil and Ice Age) and Ice Age was a great deal better. It sure wasn't as good as Shrek or Monsters, Inc., but it was still very enjoyable. As of right now itd probably be my #3 movie of the year.

Monsters Inc was pretty good, but if Ice Age isn't as good as that then I might not see it.
Well, I will go see Ice Age today, I will tell you if Resident Evil is better or not.
Like I said, if I had to choose from another bland kiddy CGI movie and an action-packed funfest with zombies, hunters, and tits, then I'd choose Resident Evil.

Well, I really really enjoyed Monsters, Inc., so maybe you wouldn't like Ice Age...

Well, if it's almost as good as Monsters Inc, then there's a chance I might go see it. I don't want some crappy, overly childish Jimmy Neutron here. I want some good-natured fun that the whole family can enjoy.
However, next week, I'd rather put my money down to go see Blade 2, rather than Ice Age.

Believe me, it's closer to Pixar genius than "Jimmy Neutron" pandering. See it.

I saw Ice Age this afternoon as was very suprised how funny it was. I really loved the characters which were very clever and original. The story did not match the brilliance of Monster's Inc or the Heart of Shrek and Toy Story (1 and 2), but this is a very clever and original movie, that is perfect for little ones, teens, and even parents! Defenitly watchable, and a great one to choose in a sea of bad kids movies (big fat liar, return to neverland, and snow dogs)

This movie was superb! I am going to post my big review when JoBlo on the WHAT DO YOU THINK forum.
But all I can say is I recommend it and it was a hilarious film. It's very similar to Monstas Inc and Shrek but its bring new meaning to the genre. 9/10.

Oh, this movie is far from overchildish Jimmy Neutron crap! There were even some pretty risque (sp?) jokes every once in a while.
Just saw Ice Age(8/10). Hilarious, I recommend it! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

That's so funny, Lazycouch. Weren't you the one who kept telling us to see RESIDENT EVIL[/b] before bashing it? So now you're bashing ICE AGE without having seen it. What's up with that?

Ice Age 7/10...
Ice Age is a good, funny heart filled tale about a Mammoth, a Sloth and a Sabre-Tooth Tiger trying to get a baby back to its tribe. Ice Age is full of the color and imagination of other computer generated animations such as Monsters, Inc. and Shrek. Kids will of course love it but there is some fun for the adults too...and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The funniest scenes involve a squirrel and his trials and tribulations with an acorn...Ice Age is full of in-jokes about migration and extinction...a great scene involving commando dodo's and water-melons is a riot. There is also a really fun and exciting sequence involving ice-chutes and a nice touching scene involving cave-paintings that I really enjoyed. The characters are nicely voiced by Ray Romano, John Leguizamo and Denis Leary...overall Ice Age is a fun, family adventure that kids will love and adults can enjoy...and is really the best thing out there for family viewing.

It reminded me of a CG Lion King with a cool style - not trying to be 'realistic'.

I saw Ice Age the other day, it wasn't as good as the other computer animated features, but it was still enjoyable. The talented group of comedians really helped. Anyway, the movie is fun, and something the entire family can enjoy.

I was really looking forward to this one and I was rather disappointed by it.
What I love about Pixar's movies and Shrek is that they are films made for adults that are suitable for children. When I went to see TS2 at a special screening recently the adults were laughing much more than the kids.
This is not true of Ice Age. The jokes were pitched too young for me (though the bit with the Dodo's was fun) and I was let down severely by the animation. Yes it's competent but it's not got the attention to detail that sucked me into the other films I've named so completely.
All this said I didn't feel I'd wasted my time. The sequences with Scrat were funny (the opening sequence justifies the ticket price) and Denis Leary is always good value. I'd not sit through it again but I can think of worse ways to spend an hour and a half.
