For the Long Island , New York shmoes , the cinema arts center in Huntington is showing some great horror movies during the summer , you may want to check it out , it would be nice to see these on the big screen again , heck i never got to see most of them in the theater in the first place . The Thing , Return of the Living Dead , It's Alive , Friday the 13 th , Dead Alive , Night of the Creeps , they have an excellent lineup , although the showtimes are late , each double feature starts at 11 pm .

thats awesome...and actually kinda crazy, since lately i've been having talks with a buddy of mine who just opened up a new Venue here in Philly. I pitched him the idea of letting me try and run a movie night weekly showing double-features and such...heres hoping. This type of stuff needs to happen more often.

It blows because i dont think ill be able to make any of these showings , because of the distance and the times they are showing , i hope i can find another place that will do this , i remember in the mid to late 80s i would go to the local theater almost every weekend to catch the midnite madness shows . I wish they would bring stuff like that back . They would show Dawn of the Dead , Day , Monty Python movies , Rocky Horror , Evil Dead, whatever you could think of , they showed something , a classic horror film or simply a bizzare cult classic , or even a somewhat recently out of the theaters film . I dint realize how spoiled i was back then . There's at least 12 films on that list from the cinema arts center that i would love to see on the big screen , i'm curious to know if they cleaned up the prints and what the sound will be like .

I know my stuff will likely be projected straight from the DVD I believe.

But I think it could be something really solid if all the horror fans of the area unite.

There is a group in Philadelphia that plays old horror flicks from time to time. Mostly late 70's early 80's films. Its not a constant thing and they move around to different theaters. I think one time they got Bruce Campbell to come when they showed Evil Dead 2.

I got to see Army of Darkness at a midnight showing last Saturday. I'd love to see more around here.

I wish they would do old horror movie showings here in Denver more often. The only time they usually do is during October. I would love to see some of the classics on the big screen with other fans around!

They used to be called Exhumed productions or Exhumed films. I think they changed the name though. They would advertise in local papers. The last one I know of was like 3 months ago.

MYSPACE... of course. Why didnt I look there sooner.
They still show movies. Heres the link.
