I've just done some reading on this movie, and it sounds very interesting. Anyone on here seen it and willing to give their opinion and a rating?
thanks

It's one of those films that you read about and it sounds much much better than actually sitting down to watch it. God slicing himself open and giving birth to a woman is more interesting to read than watching it on screen.
If you can sit through Eraserhead easily and can find a copy then give it a go.

i sometimes find it difficult to rate films like this, it is kind of interesting with what its about and how its made but it's so damn slow that i ended up speeding up the play speed (which didnt hurt since theres no dialogue at all)
it's something you'd see once and probably never watch again
maybe worth a rent, but not a blind buy

Thanks for the opinion. I'd read a lot about it and people had said that it was pretty slow. If I can find a place that has it to rent it, I'd definitely check it out. But right now, that's not the case. You mentioned Eraserhead. What's that movie?

Eraserhead was the first feature film from David Lynch, who went on to do Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks, Wild At Heart, Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive and tons of other great stuff. It's a black and white dreamscape of sorts, with all kinda of nightmarish visuals and sounds. It has a very famous scene that serves as its cover, you've probably seen it before:

Before you watch Begotten, I'd definitely check out this. Possibly check out Tetsuo (a Japanese black and white messed-uppy) beforehand. If you like these two, then head onto Begotten.
