Yay!! Good news for people who want more extras, and even better news for those who don't own TCM on DVD at all. The cover art is pretty cool! I tried to post it from ign but they must have some sort of block or something because it wouldn't work.

Is this def the last one they are going to release , the definitive version ? Note to self , wait for the ultimate versions of Dvds , the special ones are not really special at all . Unless there is a super terrific happy hour version planned .

I already own the movie but I want to hear the commentary with Marilyn Burns. I'll rent/borrow it when it comes out.

Sweet! I've already marked September 26 on my calendar for the Infinifilm Edition of A Nightmare on Elm Street, so I guess I'll have to add this one as well. I don't own the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre on DVD yet, only the brilliant remake, so I'll be picking this one up for sure.

If you're really a die-hard, drooling fan with money burning holes in your pocket, you could spring for the foreign release, put in a large chainsaw:

This was well worth the money, great set. I usually try not to double dip with DVD's, but this was certainly too good to pass up.

okay, ign reviewed this set.

http://dvd.ign.com/articles/737/737317p1.html

summary: 10/10, flawless video transfer, amazing extras, a case example of how to (re)release a movie.

I'll be seeking out a copy sometime before Halloween. Can't wait to own this movie; it's one of my all-time favorites.

I already have the 1998 special edition DVD. I just gotten the new special edition. Just because of the two documentarys, which are both good. I didn't listen to the new audio commentary they put on there. It's worth the buy.

Agreed. I already own The Meat-Packing Edition, but I just had to pick this one up as well. Definitely a lot of interesting bits of trivia I was unaware of.

And Edwin Neal is pretty damn funny.

I've got the UK release from a few years ago which I thought had a decent amount of extras on it to start with, but there's definitely enough fresh extra meat on this old corpse to make me want to double dip here. :D
