Werewolf films have always been a favourite of mine since I was a kid. I remember seeing The Wolfman when I was really young and thinking it was from another world. I had no idea that films were originally made in black and white, it felt like I was watching a documentry. I then saw The Howling and American Werewolf in London when I was 13. I knew from then on I was a werewolf horror junkie.
The only downside is the lack of decent werewolf films. There are handful of really good ones and then a small palm full of bad ones. For every Howling theres 6 sequals and for every 'Werewolf in London there a 'Werewolf in Paris.
The constant surge of cgi doesnt help either. Im just not intimidated by pixels. I prefer the old fashioned 'man with sideburns' or the 'man in a latex suit' approach. If you put the practical effects of 'London' against the cgi from 'Paris' its a whole different league.
Thankfully theres indie films like Dog Soldiers around to keep me slightly fixed.
