For Best Supporting Actress I'd give it to Samantha Morton in MINORITY REPORT, so far.

Is this an Oscar Wishlist or prediction list?
Cause I'm doing both.

Best Picture
LOTR - The Two Towers Minority Report Road to Perdition (fill in) Signs

Best Actor
Tom Hanks - Road to Perdition Tom Cruise - Minority report Mel Gibson - Signs
(it's starting to look like the $20 million dollar club here, I know) Hugh Grant - About a Boy (fill in )

Best Actress
Michelle Pfeifer - White Oleander? Diane Lane - Unfaithful
Possibilities: Nicole Kidman again (The Hours) or Rene Zellweger (The Hours, White Oleander, Chicago)

Best Supporting Actors/Actress
Tyler Hoechlin - Road to Perdition Paul Newman - Road to Perdition Samantha Morton - Minority Report Joaquin Phoenix - Signs Robin Williams - Insomnia or (and this might be my personal choice ) One Hour Photo Hillary Swank - Insomnia Cameron Diaz - Gangs of New York

Best Directors
Steven Spielberg - Minority Report Christopher Nolan - Insomnia (Not my choice, but sounds like something Hollywood would do) Sam Mendes - Road to Perdition

Possibilities: M. Night Shyamalan - Signs, Shekhar Kapur - the Four Feathers, Martin Scorcese - Gangs of New York (if pulls it off right)

That's all I can squeeze out for now. The movie season is still quite young and there are still possible gems left to unearth.

Oh, Colin. Please tell me you didn't really like We Were Soldiers that much. We agree on so much, and that disappoints me. I hated that sappy bit of schlock. And Mel was way over the top.

I had a feeling you'd write something to this effect. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I've only seen it once, but sorry, I really enjoyed it. Mel was a little over the top, but I enjoyed his performance. Barry Pepper was awesome in it. I know it was kind of cliche-ridden and probably not realistic, but I really enjoyed the battle scenes.
