Dan Brown was tenth? That's freakin' funny. I'm a bit suprised that Tom Cruise was on top, but now that I think about it - there's really nobody else I can think of that is as much in the news and successful. Good to see Spielberg is still making the grade.

The list is silly, because they are basing the "most powerful" celebritry on trivial things like "number of hits each received on Google Internet searches, mentions in the press, television and radio as well as the number of cover photos in 26 major US magazines".

Cruise is #1 on the list, because he has been acting like an ass and THAT'S why he has so many searches and has been on so many gossip magazines. But does anyone really think that all the controversy has made him more "powerful"? Probably the exact opposite of that.

Spielberg most likely has much more pull in Hollywood than Cruise has. And his income is much bigger as well. The fact that he is not on tabloids doesn't make him any less powerful.

If the two would end up in a power battle, it would be Cruise who would give in, not Spielberg.

I'm not sure that any of the things that he has done in the past months as dented his "power".

The guy is still a box office draw. He makes money and that's all that counts.

Also the article says he is the most powerfull "celebrity" Could be wrong but i doubt that only ounts as pull in hollywood. I would imagine it would include alot of things.
