How on earth does Ed Norton NOT have an Oscar by now?? It remains a mystery.

As for your list, I agree with a lot of your choices but I can say without hesitation that Heather Graham, Neve Campbell, and George Clooney will never even get so much as a nomination.

And for the record, Jennifer Connelly DID win an Oscar http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

Neve and Heather are definitely tough calls.

Even when they can act well (specially Graham), it seems that they most choose better their rols, before looking for an Oscar.

PS: Neve....Scream will not take you anywhere.

Unfortunately (fortunately?) I think these two just have too much fun acting to take themselves seriously enough to even TRY to win an Oscar. They put themselves in anything (Mr. Deeds, Tremors, etc.) just to continue to work. Which is great for us!! They are both very fun to watch.

BTW, Ed Norton has already been robbed twice. Should have won a supporting for Primal Fear, and should have won the big one for American History X. He is the best under 50 actor working today.

You're 'avin a larf aintcha!?

And about Ewan McGregor...He is indeed capable, (hopefully Young Adam will put him back on form once again)...but I fear that Star Wars may have scuppered his chances!

this is going to come over as very sexist and i apologise in advance, but history tells us that it is easier for a woman to win an oscor than a man.
there is nothing like the competition, one good role can win an award and most acress's get that one role capable of winning,i think you only have to look at julia robert's winning to prove that point.

I think that's a great point paul. I also do not think that it's sexist. Only realist. And it is simply because there are more meaty roles for men than there are for women. Thus thinning the competition. It seems like every year they have to stretch to find 5 nominees for the Best Actress category, simply for a lack of good scripts developed for women. But, every year they have to leave out 2 or 3 or 4 actors who are deserving of at least a nomination because they limit themselves to 5. It's simply a matter of numbers.

I do agree to a certain extent, and it certainly aint a "sexist" theory!

Its just a shame that stunning performances from the likes of Ellen Burstyn and Brenda Blethyn are often overlooked!

Grebdron is bloody right...There need to be a few more "meaty" Female roles knocking about! Perhaps that would up the competition!

I know I've said it before. I'm positive I'll say it again but...
How in the name of all that is good and holy do Julianne Moore and Jennifer Jason Leigh not have oscars yet??

Another name I'd like to see on the ballot one day is Melora Walters, an underrated actress who should have won for Magnolia (she gave the best performance in that film) and if there is any justice WILL win for Rain (if it ever gets released anywhere)

I don't dislike her, but what has Jennifer Jason Leigh done that should have won her an Oscar?

People I think will eventually win an Oscar:
1.Tom Cruise-He should have won one already.
2.Naomi Watts-She was nominated for awards last year for Mulholland Dr. so the critics must think she has alot of talent. She should only get better.
3.Edward Norton-Also should have won already.
4.Morgan Freeman-He's such a great actor that he just has to win one.
5.Guy Pearce-He certainly has the talent to do so.
6.William H. Macy-He is also a great yet underappreciated actor.
7.Toby Maguire-He a good actor who chooses great films to appear in.
8.Jeff Daniels-Yet another talented actor who's underappreciated by most everyone.

Btw, Sean Penn won't win an Oscar because the Academy hates him for some reason.
