Hey everybody,

I'm sure most of you saw the awesome and hilarious roast of Pamela Anderson that came out early last month from Comedy Central since it was so kick ass. The likes of Tommy Lee, Andy Dick, Jimmy Kimmell, Courtney Love and many more came to roast the shit out of Pam and she took it like a trooper. Now comes even better news that on August, 20th at 10:00pm, Comedy Central will be roasting T.J. Hooker & Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner. It will be just like Pam's roast but there is no word yet on who will be roasting him for two hours. I hope that a bunch of the "Star Trek" crew members show up to roast him since he is hated in that community. If anybody should be there, it should be Jim Carrey for sure who is the king of impersonating Shatner. He really is a good sport for doing this. So, here is the link for more info:

What do you all think? Who should attend?

Set phasers to "piss all over yourself" hilarious.
Wondering if any of the old crew will be there to "roast" him.
As long as Courtney doesn't come wandering in and start exposing herself...(I heard she never left after they finished filming the last one... )

Can't wait for it.
Engage.

Kevin Pollack does an awesome impersonation of him whenever he appears on Conan. Also Jason Alexander is a huge fan of Shatner.

Leornard Nimoy must be present or I'm not watching.
Courteney Love must be absent or I'm not watching.

Are you kidding? Watching comedians call Courtney a skanky disease bag to her face for two hours is hilarious.

William Shatner is the MAN.

This has been verified by scientists from 6 different nations.

It's here in Australia, but given that our television shows are more or less one season behind the rest of the world's we may come up with a dry season very soon.

Yes, Boston Legal is still on the air. Tuesdays at 10PM on ABC.

Shatner rules. Third coolest person on television right now (third only behind Kiefer Sutherland and Hugh Laurie!).

Wouldn't even be a roast without those 3. I hope Spader, the deviant that he is, shows up to say some crude and funny words.

I thought only comedians got roasted? I guess they gave up on that tradition for ratings.

I don't know if anyone will agree with me but I sure hope that Andy Dick doesn't show up. That guy is such an idiot and I can't stand him, he's not funny at all. I wish they'd get rid of his as well for the MTV Movie Awards skits cause he ruins them. They need to get big actors for the skits like they used to.

Anderson is not a comedian. Although it is fun to laugh at her.

Comedy Central promised to give a donation to PETA if Pam went and did the roast, most of these ones without comedians have some sort of reason for it (charity mainly).

And so what? They still roast comedians, and Shatner is a likeable guy.

You mean you don't laugh when you see Shatner on TV? ;)

The next one of these HAS to, I mean HAS TO BE: Christopher Walken

And they need to get Kevin Pollack, Jay Mohr and Kevin Spacey together to have a threeway conversation while doing their Christopher Walken impersonations at the event.

This is not a request, its an order! ;)

Sorry, but Frank Sinatra wasn't a comic and he was one of the original roasts.

They MUST have Ben Folds there. Those two have collaborated together a lot on Ben's "Fear Of Pop" side project,William Shatner's Has Been CD, and he did some songs for Shatner's latest movie (Over The Hedge).

Caught another commerical the other day and Geoffrey Ross say something like, "Look at ya. You let yourself boldly go. Do you work at Boston Legal or Boston Market?" :p

Sunday night!! Can't wait.

I love the original Star Treks- I just saw the one about Captain Pike (Jeffery Hunter) the other day. I think Paul Giamatti should be there- he did a great Shatner impression on Saturday Night Live. And of course Leonard Nimoy.

Why is Shatner hated within the Star Trek community?

God, This is going to suck edited. I am going to wait until it's on Secret Stash, because I find it more hilarous when it is unbleeped because some of the rosters are pretty dirty comics.

My guess is because it has to do with that SNL skit he did where he told the cast members acting like Trekkies to "get a life."

That's one of the funniest skits I've ever seen on SNL. He asked Jon Lovitz "Have you ever kissed a girl?" and then Jon just lowers his head in shame. Priceless. :D

And I too can't wait for the Secret Stash and (hopefully) the DVD...it's gonna be a whole lot funnier unedited.

Opening skit with Leonard Nimoy was a great start.
"Pointy eared pussy!"
"Hey! I'm still on the phone!"
Shatner's roast chair=priceless
Great montage of Shatner's work. Excellent monolgue by Jason Alexander. The crowd actually had REAL celebrities for once (and even Adrian Zmed...geeeshh...he's aged about 60 years ), at least from the roasts I've seen. A very funny Dias all the way around (except for Artie Lange). I can't even remember all of the hilarious lines everyone had...not just the lines on George Takei's face everytime he laughed. Farrah Fawcett flubbed her lines, but when you're 82 and still smokin' hot, they tend to let it slide. Geoffrey Ross and Lisa Lampanelli (as always) owned the show. One of the best roasts I have ever seen, right up there with Denis Leary's.
Bring on Secret Stash and the DVD :D

** don't make me tell you what it means :D

Fucking hilarious overall.
A lot of cringe worthy stuff (George Takei and Nichelle Nichols...oh man.)

One of my favorite segments: Jefferey Ross.

"What happened to you? You let yourself "boldly go". You used to be Capt. Kirk. Now you look like Capt. Crunch. Do you work at Boston Legal or Boston Market?"

I cried.
It was good.

I missed the Pamela Anderson roast last year so maybe I just didn't know what to expect but this roast was totally unfunny and disgusting. Thousands of anal sex and blow job jokes and all of them had nothing to do with anything to do with Shatner. This "comedy" was so lazy- any person could have been the one who was honored with most of the jokes having nothing to do with Shatner or his career. And the one who might have been the funny one was edited- the guy who is often seen on Leno and has been in a lot of those parody movies Best in Show etc. I couldn't believe they edited his act. The racial jokes on Nichelle and the gay jokes about George Takei were in really bad taste. I know roasts are supposed to be irreverant but this one was mean spirited in the extreme and tore people's dignity to shreds. Does Takei really want to be reduced to being the target of anal sex jokes? I think he was treated very poorly. And Farrah Fawcett made a big blunder participating in this. She was told she was sexy thirty years ago and her sexuality was also torn to shreds with some very disgusting remarks aimed at her. Whoever is managing her career should be hung.

I am so let down about this roast. There was so much material to work with but they hardly touched it at all.

I'm not sure, but it is Comedy Central...which means they'll replay it about 742 times. The Secret Stash version is the one you really wanna see...where they don't censor anything. If it does get announced for Secret Stash, please someone come back here and post it for everyone else to see. Thanks!

That myspace joke was the funniest for me especially since that site is overrated IMO:

"Not even Tom wants to be your friend!"
