When will Godzilla 1985 and Godzilla vs. Biollante be released on DVD?

We have no idea. Anchor Bay currently holds the rights to Godzilla 1985 and wants to hold out until they can get ahold of the Japanese version as well, as a real treat to the fans (since the Japanese version differs very greatly).
Godzilla vs. Biollante is a different story altogether. HBO originally had the rights, and it's unknown now if they still do (and if they do, releasing it, in their minds, would only appeal to such a small cult audience that it's not worth it, but they probably would want to much for some of the smaller companies to pick up the rights), and if they don't have the rights anymore, then it's unclear who does at the moment, and it seams the film is just stuck in limbo, waiting for someone to clear out all the rights issues first. There have been several petitions for it to be released, all of them have pretty much been ignored.
