This is just my opinion, but I think Malevolence is the most effective slasher movie made since Scarecrows, and Halloween before that.

Those are the only three slasher flicks I've seen that are truly creepy and effective. I know a lot of people don't like Malevolence because virtually every scene and story idea is stolen from every slasher movie made before it (right down to the killer's Michael-Myers-crossed-with-Jason-in-Friday II outfit), but there's a very simple reason why I like it despite all that:

IT WORKS at what it set out to do.

That's all I ask from a horror movie, and Malevolence delivers. Anyone else on here share this view, or is the movie just another homage-ripoff?

I've been wanting to see this for a while. I haven't seen it anywhere for under 15 bucks and I don't think its worth that much.

This is one of the worst movies Ive ever seen.

How many times does the woman fall asleep while her daughter is being hunted outside?

I thought it was good, but it doesnt have much replay value. It does borrow from alot of other movies. It still has pretty good atmosphere though.

i enjoyed this flick. and i was just looking at netflix, and i gave it 5/5 stars upon returning it.. so i must have enjoyed it (i have a bad memory)

however, i do remember the movie had a lot of effective scenes and i was never bored during it. so thumbs up from me.

Its definetly a great little indy flick, and one of the better "slashers" to come out in years. The one scene actually got me to jump (first time in a long damn time). Well worth the wait and hype behind it was met.

what I liked very much was the atmosphere of the flick. Everything else was pretty much been there done that the discovery of the girl's body in the barn was awsome.
