*NEW DETAILS ON THE FILMS PLOT!*

Plot- With his new apprentice Amanda (Shawnee Smith), the puppet-master behind the cruel, intricate games that have terrified a community and baffled police has once again eluded capture and vanished. While city detectives scramble to locate him, Doctor Lynn Denlon (Bahar Soomekh) is unaware that she is about to become the latest pawn on his vicious chessboard.

One night, after finishing a shift at her hospital, Lynn is kidnapped and taken to an abandoned warehouse where she meets Jigsaw (Tobin Bell), bedridden and on the verge of death. She is told that she must keep the madman alive for as long as it takes Jeff (Angus Macfayden), another of his victims, to complete a game of his own. Racing against the ticking clock of Jigsaw's own heartbeat, Lynn and Jeff struggle to make it through each of their vicious tests, unaware that he has a much bigger plan for both of them...

Well at least the premises are creative and . . . well, not completely rehashing. Eventhough I was under the impression that Jigsaw had died (godammit!) at the end of Saw II.

Don't love the poster though. The teeth don't work as well as the severed fingers. Saw II's poster was the best.

Holy fucking shit!!!!!!! If there is a victim in the movie that has to pull their teeth out, people are going to be tripping balls!!!!! I can't fucking wait for this shit. I don't care about acting or plot, this is going to be fucking awesome!!!!!!! This poster is definitly the best of the 3. It may take people a second to connect the teeth to the 3 but once they figure it out people are going to go nuts!!!!

I think that those two sticks are connected to a bigger machine that will rip the skin right out of his face, but then again maybe that scene isnt even in the movie its just a way to get people freaked out to see it, aka SAW 2 didnt have 2 cut fingers:D

UPDATE

Not only did we score a look at the brand new poster art for Lionsgate's Saw III (here), but we got this little juicy bit from director Darren Lynnn Bousman, " 'Saw III' is balls to the wall rollercoaster ride. We upped the ante 10 fold from SAW II, not only in disturbing imagery - but story and character interaction as well. We've done some things in this film that we didn't have the resources to do last year. We were able to explore things that were only hinted at before. Trust me... You haven't seen anything yet." Saw III, which hits theaters October 27th, stars Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, Bahar Soomekh, Angus Macfadyen and Dina Meyer.

Meh. Movies like this and Hostel and See No Evil...are absolute crap. Too much over the top imagery and no suspense or shock value. Its all just HEY...CUT OUT THE ASIAN CHICKS EYE, DRILL THE GUY IN THE LEG! THEN SAW THE LEG OFF! THEN MAKE THE ASIAN CHICK SWALLOW THE LEGLESS GUYS CELL PHONE!

...once again...ill just wait for these movies to hit HBO or something.

Very awesome....

I really hope they use that grill trap that they wanted to use in Saw II, but couldn't due to their budget.

I'm just trying to picture bringing a date home, we get to the bedroom and she sees that poster. Just trying to picture her reaction, although it would depend on the girl I guess.

Anyway, I like the continued "creativity" with the posters - with the fingers for the second and now the teeth for this one. Am looking forward to the movie to see what kind of f*cked up stuff they do in this one.

I wondered what they'd do for the "3" if they ever got round to doing a third Saw, quite creative. Also, the plot sounds intriguing enough for me to check this out (although there was no doubt that I would've, I love both Saw films).

I agree. If I'm going to be scared/shocked/disturbed I actually have to give a shit about the characters in the first place. Audition got this right. Shock value is fine sometimes but it's nice to have some depth too, you know?

No way! The director said it's going to be fucked up!! I can hardly believe it! I never thought he would say that!

I am with Katsumoto. The Saw movies are unbelievably fucking stupid and a huge detriment to the horror genre. The scariest thing about them is how un-scary they are. The poster is fucking lame.

The Saw movies are definitely underrated but stop hating, seriously. What American horror films have been as consistent and creative lately? 90% of American Horror is garbage these days, Saw, as contrived as it may seem at times, is actually very refreshing and well made IMO.

But hey, maybe Im just saying this because Im friends with a lead cast member and know what happens in Saw 3 :p

I'll answer that question: None. That's why I tend not to watch them, if I can help it. Just because most of what's being churned out lately is nothing short of shit, doesn't mean that I'm going to be anymore leniant. Surely that does not make sense? And well-made films they are not. Its hyper style is simply distracting and annoying.

I'm guessing that guy in the poster is the first victim you see in the first scene of the movie. Jigsaw placed maybe a tiny key inside one of his gums and the victim has to pull them all out to find it. What you guys think?

I'm a horror fan, and I've liked both films.

As for "true" horror fan, I can't really carry that label. I've hated so-called great recent horror movies like Wolf Creek and Hostel.

The severed hand and foot poster from the first film is far better than this one.

You know what, i'll apologize, I should not have said anything to do with a true horror fan. It's everyones own opinion. I guess its just the late hour and my extreme hate for the Saw films and all the love the get on these boards that got me making dumb comments.

In my personal opinion, the Saw movies aren't great and more often than not come off as a bit of a ripoff to Se7en with the killer's motivations and all. But they are alright for the most part. And I did think the sequel was an improvement on the first one mainly because I'm a big of fan of Donnie Walhberg so it was cool to see him in that movie.

And while I'm not that much of a fan of the poster, reading a little bit of the plot it does sound somewhat promising especially the bit of the doctor girl having to keep the jigsaw killer alive. Sounds like there could be some real urgency and suspense in the movie if they do it right.

Both are too big a call. Horror is the only genre I thoroughly adore, but I can't stand the sight of the Saw movies. It's not reallyy because they're completely terrible (5/10 and 6/10 for II) but because how AWESOME and THOUGHT PROVOKING and SMART everyone says they are. Their popularity is gutcoiling considering how average they are (it's aslmost as bad as Star Wars III).

I'm not shocked because I knew about a Saw III since Saw II was announced. Thankfully it ends here. I'm sure even fans agree that they should keep it a trilogy. No one wants the series to continue on and on and on getting worse with each entry (which is the route Final Destination will take).

Yes, ever since the second film, I've thought a third film would be perfect to end the series. But, they're gonna pump out even cheaper direct-to-video stuff that will make them a profit, lack of quality notwithstanding. Three is enough for me.

SPOILERS FOR SAW 2 AND CUBE/CUBE 2

It's pretty amazing how much Saw ripped off the Cube series in its sequel. Understandable though, the entire series is based on ripping off other movies with the original ripping off Seven among other movies. For one, there are people trapped inside a booby trapped house instead of a booby trapped cube. They were fighting the clock, instead it was deadly nerve gas rather than starving to death. One of the people in the house were working with the enemy just like in Cube 2. At the end one of them went crazy and started murdering the others, this happened in both Cube movies.

END SPOILERS

The Saw movies are a sheep in wolf's clothing. It tries to act like a smart and ruthless horror movie when in fact it's riddled with plot holes and is just trying hard to be smart when it's just a dumb movie really. Saw's ending felt so bad because it seemed like they just tried to think of a way to end the movie on a shock.

The poster is decent, but I'm not going to be all hyped up for it since the series has a good marketing team (the first saw movie especially). The series is suffering the Cube syndrome which is no wonder since they're ripping it off. The first movie was given a good reception by audiences. The sequel decided to try and re-create the quality of the first movie and it failed miserably. The best way for Saw to turn good is if it went nuts and had fun with the trap concept, pull an Evil Dead or Final Destination and just have the movie about people dying in cool gory ways.

I've been a horror fan since I was little one watching Halloween for the first time, and I hate the Saw films. I remember after watching the terrible car chase scene with Danny Glover in the original I wanted to punch the editor and James Wan in the throat.

I just read from reliable sources that the teeth DO infact have to do with a trap and a victim in the movie. Well, they've done feet, needles, razor-wire and jaw-ripping traps, I think now they have to go onto teeth.
