This one took me by suprise when I saw it before Superman, quite frankly, this late in the year, if I haven't heard of it in any form by now, it probably isn't very good. This does nothing for me.

Was anybody else expecting the trailer to stop halfway, while somebody like, oh, Johnny Knoxville, let us in on the joke? I didn't think it was going to be a SERIOUS trailer, if that's what I'm saying.

I don't like the new title. Take out "The" and "Story," and you have a much better title - Nativity. I've seen the teaser trailer already. It did absolutely nothing for me.

That was pretty underwhelming.

Wow.

I didn't think there was a more powerful sedative than going to church every Sunday but that came pretty close.

That was almost as bad as the Lady in the Water teaser. Somehow, I don't think the desired effect for the teaser was for me to be laughing my ass off (well, after the WTF I was thinking at the end).

There are a few exceptions, but all in all, religous movies rarely interest me (The Prince of Egypt and The Passion of the Christ are the only two I can think of that are exceptions). This isn't one of those exceptions. AT ALL!

I see where everyone's coming from with this, and true the teaser was severely lacking, but I'm intrigued. I can't remember a movie movie being done from the perspective of Mary. I think Keisha Castle-Hughes is a very talented young actress (see: Whale Rider) and I absolutly adore Catherine Hardwick and her directing styles.

I guess this movie was listed in Entertainment as potentially being one of the most controversial movies coming out. I love a good controvery as long as Michael Moore has absolutly nothing to do with it (...I loathe that man). Then again, Aladdin, as in Disney, was on the list as well... whatever.

I'm eager for a more indepth trailer. We'll see what they do with that.

I was going to say the same thing. They originally had it as Nativity which was a much better title.

I have some interest in this because of Keisha Castle-Hughes and Catherine Hardwicke.

I don't understand all of the Keisha Castle-Hugles love, Whale Rider was 'OK', it DID NOT deserve an oscar nom in my opinion, and New Line's big trend of crappy history pieces aren't impressing me.

I swear, everyone in the theater laughed their ass off at this trailer and then laughed even harder when I yelled out "Oh, great, another prequel!"

If this is coming out in December, it is certainly odd that they have like NO footage from the film itself to put in the trailer. God, they might as well have just had the text. This told me nothing about the movie and I found myself glancing at my watch - and it's like 1 minute long.

I dont know what the reason was for to use a derogatory slang for this movie but I'm sure there isnt a good one.

Anyways...I hate teasers...this one didnt do much, but it did give a nice Mel GIbson vibe. Lets see, The Passion, The Nativity....when is soemoene just gonna redo Jesus Of Nazareth and tell the ENTIRE story in ONE movie? JON is outdated, too long, and boring

I disagree. Aside from the British accents on Jewish characters, Jesus of Nazareth is one of the most accurate accounts of the events in the Gospels that I've ever seen. It may take a while to sit through, but I never have a problem with it.

I do agree when compared against all the other versions out there, its about the best, but I think it needs to be redone.

My number one fav, of the Christ movies is the silent version of The King of Kings (The Roadshow version) Powerful flick.

Tidbit: The guy who played Jesus in that one, played the druggist in Its A Wonderful Life

I've never seen so many people pissed off over a teaser before in my life. It's just a minute long and people are acting like they just paid 10 bucks to see a 2 and a half hour movie they didn't like. Is it really necessary to turn a title of something that's important to one's faith into a derogatory term simply because...you didn't like the teaser?

I don't think anyone's pissed off at all - I certainly don't get any hints of that in the earlier responses, it's just the fact that the responses are all negative cause well - the teaser is rather boring.

Everyone's just expressing their dislike for the teaser - it's not like anyone's going "omfg i can't believe they wasted two minutes of my precious time" or something like that...

A movie's a movie, but you'd think they story of the mother of Christ would merit a better director than the woman who did Lords of Dogtown -- a movie that had a fantastic script but just very bad direction. I wonder of that grundgy, home-video-like camera use will translate well during the Immaculate Conception era...

Plus, this is nit-picky, but if you pay close attention to both LoD and Thirteen, her only other movie, you'll see how unrealistic her lighting scheme is, which is surprising for a former production designer.

I think Mel Gibson is a looney, but this movie could be getting spectacular build-up at least if there were a respectable, period-piece type director -- but why Hardwicke?
