Winona Ryder was my first real crush. I think it was that scene where she gets under the shower fully clothed in Heathers that did for me.
But that's 12 or 13 years ago now and she's been off the radar for a while, her last really notable lead coming in Mr Deeds.
However she seems to have overcome her problems, both emotional an drug related and has two films coming out soon anda third Sex and Death 101 readying for production.
Now that she's back I'm realising just how much cinema has missed Winona Ryder. She's a teriffic actress (See Heathers, The Crucible, The Age of Innocence and Edward Scissorhands, among others) and now that she's grown beyond the teenage roles that made her name (she is, unbelieveably, 35) it should be interesting to see how her rekindled career unfolds. Here's hoping she can avoid ill suited crap like Alien 4 and Lost Souls this time out.
I can't wait to see A Scanner Darkly and the fact that The Darwin Awards went down well at Sundance has piqued my interest in that as well.
As you may well guess it's a big old YAY from me. How about you guys?
